We subbed small on def most of OT for some stupid reason. Herro should have sat and Richards in to drive them off the line.
Kev, if he's one of our three best players, HE may be fine, but we sure aren't. And I'd have a hard saying he is better than Travis, Keldon and P.J. (when P.J. actually wants to play, which admittedly is only about half the time).
Herro is a really good player. His shooting is off right now. He’s short arming shots and he’s fading backwards. I’m not sure why I can see this and our coaches can’t. Easily fixable. He played really good defense today.

I think he will be eventually. Some kids just take longer to develop and it doesn't mean that he's not talented.

He has good form on his shot and is getting open looks but they're just not falling. May be thinking about it while shooting which you can't do.
I think his shot has been off ever since they started messing with it. Any one that blames this loss on one kid sure wasn't watching the same game I was. Until we get a defensive presence inside it's going to be a long season.
This just not a very good team. Guard play is just not good at all. Nobody that puts fear in the other team.

What should concern you most about Herro is how many of his shots are way short. It means one of two things, either he's tired or he's scared.
I don't think he's scared, I think he's thinking before he shoots. It all started when they started messing with his shot. jmo Basketball is a reaction game when you start thinking to much you miss shots make turnovers est.
Nope. This one is on the guy making 8 million year. The guy who said UK is the needle. UK will eat first. UK is the golden standard. That's who this game and this team is on.
Exactly who do they want in there Green, 2pts 0 ast and 3 TOs. Talk about a liability. Every time he goes in the game i'm holding my breath. He came in today and threw it right to the other team 2-3 times in under 2 mins.. Herro had a bad shooting night, but his drives to the basket which he finished every time gave us the chance to get to OT.
Agreed plus his drives to the basket to finish the second half kept us in it. He finishes at the rim every time. Some one has to tell him when it isn't falling to get to the rim more. I can't think of a time this year he didn't finish at the rim. Some on here are acting like he was a top 10 recruit. He was one of our lowest rated recruits and is a freshman. I still see him as really talented. This isn't the first time we have seen a player have a b ad shooting night. His drives were great, passing strong, he had only 1 TO. He just needs to get to the rim more. Blaming this on him is crazy. 4 other players played as many mins. or more and didn't score more than him. Kid can play, I agree they just need to work on his shot some and run some plays to get him an open look.
I don't know what you are watching to have this opinion. His defense is terrible, his shooting's been awful, and he's been a clear liability in our games against decent competition ...yet you think him one our three best? LOL.
FWIW, our actual three best players so far have been PJ, KJ and Travis. Our guards, on the other hand, have been woefully disappointing so far this season, I expected so much more from that group.

Regardless of where he ranks on team in ability, when he's not on the floor UK is way easier to defend.

His defense has improved quite a bit. He just can't shoot worth a lick right now. Kind of reminds me of that cold streak Booker had in 15.
I like Herro...but I would say he is potentially a really good player. Not sure he's proven it yet. I think it's reasonable to assume he'll improve significantly as the season wears on....I would expect Johnson and the two freshman guards will as well. I still think this will be a formidable team come March.

I'm not sure who you put in for him. But I can remember at least 3 drives where he drove in and lost the ball. May have been fouled on two of them but wasnt called. But he nowhere near finished everytime he drove to the basket. One of those times he got lucky when the ball he lost went straight to PJ for an and 1.
He has to make shots and guard no doubt, but I say we win if Travis doesn't foul out.
I saw him finish everything, but then again I was watching on delay and they left the dam game with 2:30 left in OT so I couldn't watch the last few minutes.

Well I didn't see anything at the rim he didn't finish. He missed 9 shots, 6 were 3's and 3 were long jumpers. Not sure what the other shot was so you will have to be more specific of when because I saw him finish at the rim every time. I don't think anyone on this team drives to the basket and finishes as much or as well as Herro.
He didn't get all the way to the rim on a couple of them. He lost the ball driving to the basket. You said he finished every drive to the basket. But if you drive to the basket and lose the ball on the way, it's still a drive to the basket even though it didn't result in a shot. The one though he got to the basket and lost the ball which went right to PJ for an and 1. Another one he drove all the way to the basket, jumped into the guys chest and lost the ball before he could get the shot up. That one should have been a foul.
I said he finishes at the rim. Who cares at this point, but that's what I said when he gets to the rim, reverse layup, strong play, whatever he finishes when he gets to the rim and he only had 1 TO so not sure I get your point.
Who of PJ, Keldon or Travis do you actually believe Herro is better than. Heck, throw Ashton in that group. He can at least defend his position.
