This offense is abysmal in the redzone

We know it’s tough to score in the red zone so we made the genius decision to penalize ourselves out of it and THEN score.

And our stats really haven’t improved. Everyone else just started falling.

We’ve been hovering around 87% and 62% in TDs.

2 weeks ago the same percentages had us in the upper 70s

Upon further review, 89.3% scoring average in the redzone is not abysmal! I'm old enough to have seen lots of abysmal

It’s the last piece of this offense. But, it’s also the most difficult. I expect us to improve. It’s just a matter of reps.

If you kick a FG in the red zone, that's kind of a failure.

I don’t know if I agree with this. Points are points. Yeah, obviously TDs are better, but thinking FG’s are failures gets you into making dumbass 4th & 2 calls (cough cough Lane) that keep you from scoring at all.

I remember listening to a Nick Saban interview and he said “as long as all of your offensive possessions end with a kick (XP, FG, or Punt), then you’re doing alright.”

7 > 3. Of course a FG isn't a total failure, that's why I said it's kind of a failure. But it's still less than half of a TD. If all your possessions are ending in punts and field goals, you're not going to win many games. Saban has 40 extra point attempts, 12 field goal attempts, and 21 punts this year. He's not successful because of the field goals and punts.

I tried to tell him the RZ stats are meaningless. We did great yesterday and thats because every RZ TD was a run. Running is good.

By being in the RZ you are in FG range. The only way to fail is to have a FG kicking issue. Not an offense issue.

Before yesterday we were 62%. Today we are 64%.
I said we did better yesterday but we haven’t been remotely BAD all year.

If you think that, you are just stupid. But you go on being dumb. It’s fun.

My comment was a joke. People have been bashing our redzone offense all year.

We’ve been 87% and 62% all year. It’s never been top 20 ish but it has never been even remotely close to BAD. Ever.

What was a failure yesterday regarding field goals? When lane Kiffen DIDNT kick them. That was a total failure.
