These are the kinds of wins you want on your resume. We’re 1-3 against ranked teams this year. The record we’re getting accustomed too and never should at UK! Think about this the most experienced team Cal has ever had!

If you know me I rarely if ever say that. Lose your best player, then point guard for most of 2nd half and be totally hosed by officials besides playing the most cheating coach in the nation. UK will road race them them on a level playing field. Auburn is good but bit great. Also someone needs to put an elbow in Kesslers face.
Cal has brought us to the point of moral victories. I’m sorry but I don’t agree. He needs a legit game plan for when we lose players mid game. It was also a matter of time before auburns bigs get going against oscar. No cal didn’t address the need of quality depth. Anytime Hopkins goes in it’s going to be a negative 6 point swing. Once we lost our best guard this should have turned into a half court game with some zone: they totally smoked us inside

The only way this loss is acceptable is if it helps get Cal booted out. Considering he has a lifetime contract, I guess we have no choice but to keep watching Coach Pearl own his a$$
Another troll that only comes out when we lose but is nowhere to be found when we win

I actually think we were on our way to a 15-20 pt huge road win before TyTy went out.

This season now squarely lies on how quickly TyTy can get back.

Did we not just beat a top 25 team at home by 30 like last week?
We did, but it's the only top 25 win of the season. Lost to 3 of the 4 top 25 opponents we've played this year. It's a trend that shows no signs of improvement. That's why I said if we were normal Kentucky this loss wouldn't be so bad. But, we aren't that team anymore, haven't been for a while now.

It's not a bad loss no question but you have to admit we are piling up the "not bad losses". It's kind of like Cal says, you don't have to win them all but you can't lose them all. Sooner or later we have to get some wins against top 10 level teams.

I am Cal’s biggest critic but having coached it is tough to lose your two best guards and still compete. Take Kessler and Smith away from Auburn….different result
Two best guards? Why is the program in this position? Mintz will lose you every close game and makes bad decisions every time. Yet here we are and he is the best option we have? Why? Wheeler is soft and seems to be a drama queen. Growing tired of him...he either can or he can't. And Brooks is a joke and he starts. Three key players who by any UK standard of the past, simply suck. Why do we find ourselves with this pathetic level of talent? Why? The person responsible for this mess doesn't wear a uniform but he does run his mouth a lot...in fact, he can't seem to shut up while saying very little.

Hats off to Pearl because he's put together a very nice group of players that could win it all. Nice talent at every position. Auburn will only get better and their confidence will grow and they have the talent and athleticism to back it up. I am happy to see Auburn with this team as it elevates the conference. Calipari should be embarrassed.

I can understand the notion of being OK with a loss but those circumstances, for me, are very specific and narrow and this game wasn't one of those, IMO. UK had a 10+ point lead in the first half. I don't care if TyTy goes out...it hurt yes but why don't we have a guard or two just as good to put out there? This is UK...right? Auburn had so many I couldn't keep up them all. Stark difference in talent in Auburns favor. I don't really care too much for Pearl but he's done a nice job putting his team together. Congrats to them.

This loss MIGHT be acceptable if we had been normal Kentucky for the past few years. But, we haven't been and can't beat our rivals or top 25 opponents. Might be acceptable to some but personally I am tired of losing to top 25 teams and not dominating the conference anymore.
We aren’t dominating the conference because it’s the best it’s ever been, not because Uk isn’t good…

The sad part is the game got closer before Ty Ty went out because of 2 things.

1) Cal went to the bench when we had the lead
2) Cal decided to slow the game down when we was running and kicking Auburn’s A$$

I ain’t gonna lie , Before the season started I had this game penciled in as a loss , along with at LSU and at Kansas . I missed on the Notre Dame game though.

Any team that has its two starting guards get hurt is going to lose to the #2 team on the road, and shoots 19 less free throws IS GOING TO LOSE PERIOD. but blame Cal. Please.

I think it’s so weird that u guys are giving Bruce pearl props for assembling not only the same kind of team that cal has while simultaneously bashing cal, but also a team with the same potential all but 2 of cals teams have had…like fr? “Oh good job Bruce you put together a good team this one time just like cal does every single year, you’re the best”

Apathy appears to have set in and "accepting" losses does seem to be the new normal.
Yes it does seem that way. As much as I worry about the damage to the UK Program, I'm wondering if I now need to worry about damaged "Draft Status" too. That seems to be most important to Calipari.

I agree, but the selection committee doesn't give a **** who played for UK, and neither will the AP or Coaches polls. We have like 2 quad 1 wins.

I agree with you, the conference is really good, historically good. But, at the same time, Kentucky is not their historical selves. UK hasn't finished in the top 5 in the final AP poll since 2017. If they don't turn things around in a hurry and go on a heck of a run to end the season, that will make 5 consecutive years without a top 5 finish. All the while Kansas is reeling off wins and about to overtake us in all-time wins. It's just frustrating to watch that record slip away. Let's hope Cal gets us back to the top really soon.

Not finishing top 5 is trivial. Like is it any different to finish 6th? Or 8th like the 2020 team did? Most years teams 2-7 or 8 are interchangeable

The second one is the thing I can't figure out about cal. He likes to slow things down for some reason when we should be pushing it and running the other team out.

He almost lost the 2012 game because he slowed it down. Should have run Kansas completely out of the gym.

I see what you mean with the 5-8 argument and those teams being interchangeable. All I know is I've been a fan my entire life, and I'd say you have as well. It's just a frustrating time right now. This season would make a decade without a title if we don't win it all, no final fours since 2015 and Kansas has just about taken the all-time wins lead away. That's why, at this point in time, I don't consider today's loss acceptable (sad part is without the injuries it may not have been a loss). I know everyone will have a different opinion but that is mine.
