UK is officially the Indiana Hoosiers.

1 and 6 over last 7 in Champions Classic.

1 and 3 over last 4 in CBS Sports Classic.

2 and 9. I want to thank Mitch Barnhart and the Cal fans, neither of which care about UK.

I didn't get to watch the game but I did read the late part of the game thread. I may force myself to watch later. All those last week that were defending Cal and his playing of Reed, wherever Cal goes, go with him. You're not fans of the University of Kentucky.

Remember he doesn't care about winning college basketball game. He only cares about getting players to the pros. Showcasing Wagner cost UK but it helps Wagner. Going one for a million apparently helps nowadays.

Look, we are not at full strength plain and simple. If we are healthy we win convincingly. We still made a game of it even though we were undersized.

I can’t imagine making this argument after being up 14 points. That severely weakens your argument. Our lack of bigs didn’t seem to be a problem when we were up 14. But you keep making that argument…

Not disagreeing with you. But, UK was making a lot of 3s for a stretch that a Cal coached team does not normally make to get that lead to begin with. But UK does need to do a better job with the lead. Hopefully they figure it out.

I wish I could forget the last 5-6 seasons. Last night was easily the most fun I’ve had watching UK Basketball since the Monk/Fox/Bam team. I am extremely encouraged with the upside of this team.

Unfortunately I don’t have amnesia, and this post is completely valid. We’re UK and shouldn’t have to settle for moral victories. We outplayed Kansas last night and should have won the damn game. Period.

Didn’t jack enough 3’s for you? You got any other conspiracies for us? Admitting that you didn’t even watch the game but trashing players and the coach? And who is not a UK fan? PlayStation!!

Stop with this. The OP did NOT bash a player. Wagner did go basically one for a million. It was bad enough that 90% of the board was wondering why he was getting so much clock. You really need to get over this thing of stating facts is "bashing". Cal's handling of the roster last night fits hamd in glove of his past behavior of giving certain guys (who project well to the NBA) much more clock than they warrant. I don't know if it cost Kentucky the game last night. But it does show me Cal hasn't learned anything or adjusted his priorities.

Anyway, you need to get off the "bashing" kick. It's not accurate. At least not in this case, and many others. Facts are just facts sometimes.

Bass is a troll. Nobody wants to recruit a bunch of clankers to shoot threes except him and cal. The fact is you have skilled players that get 16 minutes each while the clankers get all the clock. Bass can't defend his hero so he attacks those who are correct about his heroes deficiencies.

They've played 3 games now on the season. This happens every year, mo matter the stage of the season. It's not UK. It's Cal.

The problem is that we have a head coach who doesn't agree with your last statement. I guarantee you he went into last night's game expecting to lose by 8+ points, and was happy when he saw his guys put up a fight. He's not about winning in the moment. He's about "the process", the process that has led nowhere since 2015.

I guarantee you every coach in the country is about the process right now. Every coach in the country would be happy with the game UK played given who played and how early it is in the year. Obviously you want to win every game, but literally every single coach in the country right now is worried about a season long process and not just looking for Ws.

I wish I knew what instinct turned some of you people into giant, irrational crybabies after a close loss in early November.

As for the Indiana comparison, well, maybe a few facts would not be out of line:

Kentucky has been as far as the Elite Eight more often since 2017 than Indiana has since 1994.
Kentucky has been to EIGHT Final Fours since 1993. Indiana has been to ONE.
Kentucky has been to SEVENTEEN Elite Eights since 1993. Indiana jas been to ONE.
Kentucky has won Three NCAA championships and seventeen SEC tournament championships since 1988. Indiana has won NOTHING - neither an NCAA tournament nor a Big-10 tournament - in that span.

As for recently: In the last dozen NCAA tournaments, Kentucky has ONE championship FOUR FInal Fours TWO Final Games, SEVEN Elite Eights and more wins than any other program. Indiana has ZEROS in all those categories.

As for this year: Kentucky lost by single digits on the road to the #1 team, with thre players out and five freshmen in their first game. Indiana beat Army at home by single digits.

Don't make idiotic statements like Kentucky is becoming Indiana if you can't back it up. And no one can.

Yes it was accurate. The kid never competed in a game like that before. Calling him out and trashing the crap out of him with no knowledge of the situation is bush league.

It’s kinda laughable some random guy on the internet saying Cal hasn’t learned anything. Learned from you I suppose? Any more hypocrisy you’d like to share?

This how playing random ball works, we can't win the tough games because we don't run a set offense, it is just street ball.

I don’t know what type of Showcase Wagner put on last night, I think he cost himself a lot of money showing what little he did last night.
Wagner is the player the NBA scouts are most excited about. The idea that he has hurt his pro prospects after one bad game is ludicrous. He was playing against the number 1 team in the country. Kentucky was missing some extremely important players. He'll be an NBA lottery pick if he stays healthy.

.... and then .... wait for it .... John Calipari did what John Calipari does. The last media timeout of a close game is an absolute DISASTER no matter which crop of players he has on the floor. When will people ask why?

While not at full strength, UK was in position to win this game. It was very winnable. However Cal’s playing his chosen favorites despite what the game flow is showing gives UK the best chance to win is what frustrates the hell out of a lot of fans. No reason for Wagner and Edwards to get the clock they did with the green light they had—except Cal wants to showcase them. Cal’s record the past 6-7 years against ranked opponents and non conference P5 teams has gotten fans to the point where they are hungry for quality wins.

People like you allowed Indiana to become Indiana.

Let's work with recent history. UK has won 2 tournament games since 2020, Vandy and Providence.

UK is 1 and 6 and 1 and 3 in last few games against elite teams in classics.

KY has been poleaxed by Duke and Gonzaga.

Face reality.

It’s already being mentioned on Twitter. His jumper is broken and millions of people saw just how broken it was. When you don’t have elite quickness, you can’t simultaneously have a broken jumper.

I'll be worried about being Indiana when we care more about regular season wins than tournament performance. We ain't there yet. Now, if we don't make a deep tourney run, color me concerned about being the next IU.

So you are saying some of our fans are unable to cope with close games? Also, this is interesting about showcasing certain players. Can you provide a quote where Cal or anyone else on the team ever said that? Otherwise I might think it’s just a BS fantasy from a message board full of haters.

Yes, and by then the Calbois will be saying, "Hey it was a disappointing end to the season but look who's coming in next year! Let's just calm down and see how next season plays out" and rinse, repeat.

We were up 14 in the second half ... how does a HOF coach let that lead slip away? Cal could write that book and conduct a clinic.
