This is what WVU needs against Oklahoma

The WVU defense gave up only a TD against Texas in the final, critical 20 minutes of the game.

With the WVU offense scoring NO points in the final 20 minutes, the defense against saved WVU's bacon.

When Skylar is "on," as in 3 TD drives, he's 17 for 19. When he's "off," he's like 3 for 7 or 10.

WVU needs Tony's marauders to continue their incredible, timely effort and for Skyler and the receivers to move the sticks when the Mountaineers have the ball.

IMO, the biggest key is holding on to the ball. When they turn the ball over they struggle. Team played well enough to win the game against OSU without the turnovers - could have made the game against Texas much easier on themselves had they not turned the ball over as well.

Over the past few seasons that has been the achilles heel in big games. Holgs lost his sh** when Crawford fumbled last weekend because he's sick of his players putting the ball on the ground in big games at crucial times. They were lucky to win that game last weekend - but as he says, it's tough to win in this league, especially on the road - so a win is a win, take it and move on.

I think Skyler and co. are more than capable of hanging 40+ on Oklahoma if they don't turn it over; and I believe the defense is more than capable of holding Oklahoma under 30 if they get a turnover or two. TO margin will be the difference - IMHO. Lose that battle, it will likely be a loss. Win it, and the chances for a win are far greater.

KidPlay, you're on to something. OU has had at least 6 possible picks this year and at least 3 fumbles where the ball bounced wrong. Turnovers will be a key. If we correct this , we win. I also believe the play of your secondary will determine the game. If you let Westbrook run past you, you're in deep trouble.

I've seen you guy's on tv a few times this year and I'm impressed. I can't believe you are not in the top 6 or so with only one loss and that was close.

Should be a very good game....

They seem to move the sticks, they just need to get in across the goal line and score.

Our receivers not dropping catchable passes would certainly help. I have been critical of SH in the past but that 3 for 7 or 10 you spoke of can easily be 6 of 7 or 10 if the receivers will just hold on to the ball.

I been watching WVU football for around fifty years, this has always been the so called "achilles heel." I mean we have had so things go our luck and we have won some very big games, but not what we all what and every time we think we are there.....BAM.....the dreaded "achilles heel." One day though, one day we will over come and have it all!

Good thing you don't play for WVU because you wouldn't see any of the Sooners players. :uzi:

It's simple ..... no Sky Balls and we win. Too many Sky Balls and we lose. Did you listen to Dana's Tuesday presser?

When he talked about the offense he said that it needs to be more consistent. Later, when asked about Sky, he said that Sky needs to be more consistent. You can figure it out ... for the offense to be consistent its QB needs to be consistent .... Sky needs to quit throwing Sky Balls for the offense to get rolling.

Such is life at a program that doesnt get its pick of the annual list of 25 or so blue chips. We have to compensate for lack of size in the trenches with unorthodoxed tactics that leaves us vulnerable if one of our calling cards fails. This is probably the deepest WVU team Ive seen since I started following the program in 2005 which is why we have been able to overcome adversity in games like KSU and Texas when it usually sinks us. Hell we had an honest shot to steal the OK State game in the 4th despite making every possible mistake on offense for 3 quarters. This is the first time in a long time that going into a big game I expect to win. Pretty much every other big game in the DH era, I always felt we could win, but we needed a lot to go our way, this Saturday I genuinely expect the team to win, simply have to execute what they're capable of.

That pretty much sums this year in a nutshell.!! Execute on offense and our Defense will/has done more than their fair share to ensure victory.

Gallimore has been outstanding on the D-line this year for the Sooners. With injuries, players leaving, etc., he's been getting a lot of playing time and is making a name for himself as well as potentially becoming a four-year starter for OU. We love the big, quick, strong and mean Canadian!

Good luck Saturday night and here's to a hard-fought, well-played, injury-free game!

Sky Balls have been Skyler's problem from the get-go. I had hoped by now he would have learned his lesson. If the riverboat gambler in him stays alive on Saturday night, then snowflakes won't be the only thing coming down for WVU. Defense can't save him from Oklahoma. It can help him beat the Sooners, but Skyler must play smarter.

All-in-all, I think Sky has done his job this year? No, he's not a 5* super stud headed to the NFL, but he had mostly manged to sue his weapons and has made some great throws and some great decisions. Last week most of the incomplete passes were dropped balls that could have been caught. As far as I'm concerned, he has over achieved and we have benefited from it. I'm glad to have him and he is going to win this game this week by simply doing his part. No more; no less!:pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

Sorry for the delayed answer.....See the great poster Schoonermans reply.

I would add he's the closest DL we have to an Ed Oliver from Houston. He's not there yet, but he's getting better. One guy you won't see is a DL named Marquise Overton. He was injured earlier in the year. I'm looking forward to seeing them on the same line next year.

I won't wish you guy's any luck (other than no injuries), but I will say if you beat us and don't go immediately to the top 5 with the Louisville loss last night, the entire Big 12 nation should be pissed.

I honestly think Oklahoma is better than wvu but it's not by much. However wvu playing at home eliminates any advantage Ou might have skill wise. My question is, who does the nasty weather benefits, Oklahoma or wvu?

K2C I heard you got banned from scoop, I'm sorry to hear it. I know that board was your entire world and you considered people your friends ( hahaha). Apparently Josh isn't your buddy though. Good to see you and I sent your wife a Facebook message about a Facebook group to join. We tried to find you but couldn't. Enjoy the game tonight friend

Yankee, stay away from my wife and quit following me around on other rival sites. If you did read my wife's facebook you would know her cousin is the head detective for Rogers County. BTW, I'm not banned on the Sooner board.

Following you around on rivals site? You moron we were playing wvu this week. My god you are an idiot lol. As far as your wife's Facebook I simply sent her a message inviting you to a soonerscoop Facebook page that has several of your friends. If you aren't interested thats fine but don't come on here running your mouth to me. I sent her a respectful message and was urged to do so by one of your "buddies"

By the way, I think we know which one of us stalks the other on different sites.

You liar. My wife has nothing to do with our fight. I had your personal info years ago. I didn't even think about publishing it or going to your facebook or whatever. I could tell everybody about your homosexual tendencies and your best butt buddy GLB (porno pictures on our site), but I won't. The hell I won't...... Leave me alone.

BTW, have some respect when you come to a rivals board. It's WVU, not wvu.

Attention moron: a soonerscoop group was created on Facebook. Several of your buddies are in this group. We were thinking of people to invite and everyone wasn't sure of how to get a hold of you so one of your "buddies" messaged me and said try his wife and gave me the name. I then contacted her respectfully and haven't since. Are you drunk or something? You have now resorted to junior high comebacks and stupid responses. A simple no thanks would have been enough. Move on and I will too.

I thought I did.............It's called leave me alone and quit following me to other rival sites...........Pillow Biter.......

congrats Sooners fans, best of luck in Bedlam.

I only ask for 1 favor from you guys which I'm sure you've heard this before. Tell your band to learn some new songs lol. Surely, I'm not only one who thinks they play the same song over and over. It's like Groundhog Day but without the cute groundhog, great Bill Murray, and the always so lovely Andie MacDowell
