Have you seen him play. He is terrible at pass blocking. Very slow and cannot contain the edge rush.
I wouldn't say terrible. He has had a few lapses this year in pass pro but overall has been solid and I don't remember him giving up any big plays last year. Has flashes of brilliance where just dominates his man. Was an honorable mention All Big Ten pick as a true freshman last year.

Their line isn't terrible. They aren't great, but they aren't terrible. The way they run their offense, they play to their strengths. They have a set of plays where the run blocking and pass blocking work the same. The line just holds up play at the LOS and doesn't generally go to the 2nd level. So they aren't asking as much of them as we ask of ours in some of our schemes. Smith is very good at just picking the right hole and generally bouncing outside the tackle. They depend a lot on the RB doing most of the work past the LOS.

It almost looks like a rugby scrum.

When they are really clicking, they run the play action passes off that exact same look. Those are the plays that go for big yardage to Bateman and Johnson or sometimes Autman-Bell.

The key to winning this battle is to take away Smith bouncing outside on running plays and putting them into 2nd or 3rd and long positions. Note that that is also our defense's biggest problem. Setting the edge and outside containment.

Given the whole "row your boat" mantra and now this cringe-worthy video, the term "douche canoe" seems most apt in describing Fleck.
