Incorrect. He won't finish in the top 5 of the SEC. The new AD won't wait around to see Pope have a string of misses again like he did when he got embarrassed striking out for Collins, Holt, Stokes, Kusturica, Wright, and now Mitchell.

Well, if Stein has that type of year, it’ll be very disappointing but no talk about losing his job.

His *** was on here just last week elevating Pope to hero status. Now that Mitchell isn’t coming (due to no fault of Pope) wuss *** SOS is back to his Pope bashing. Screw that punk.
We were losing 10 plus games even with Mitchell, that’s just who pope is as a coach. He’s not a leader or motivator that gets his players to run through walls. He can make in game adjustments that do work at times but might be worse at game planning than Cal which I didn’t think possible. Can’t teach defense at all. He really is our Matt Dougherty.

You just can't keep up with the idea of changing an opinion based on available evidence. In Mitchell, Pope had finally seemed to add the critical missing piece to true contention.
Now that Mitchell isn't coming, it's back to 22ish win seasons. So I gave Pope credit for taking a lead in the 100 yard dask, but he once again tripped and fell right at the finish line. This one wasn't his fault, but what is his fault is having to depend on an August signee to actually have a team capable of winning the SEC. That's not UK material in year three. Not when you have a war chest of around $25 million to throw at players. So I had given Pope credit for finally accomplishing his job, until it once again backfired.
See how it works? It's not hard to figure out, even for an anxsty little ruffian such as yourself.
What's the alternative in your view? Ignoring all of his humiliations this spring and summer and pretending that the current roster is going to compete for an SEC title?
