Coke at one point was running low on aluminum for cans.
Mccormick can’t make store brand spices .

It’s been 6 straight months of hell for Manufactures ,warehouses, & retailers

Sales are still off the charts vs LY , we shall see if 25% indoor dining will slow down demand at all

Clorox wipes can be found. Lysol spray... good luck.
Where are wipes? I bought 1 on Walmart.com at 3am that I gave to a friend. I've seen Lysol type of disinfectant spray called Claire's at Home Depot and my local paint store. I try not to use aerosols.

@bac2therac
Shoprite has been stocked but not full of TP and PT at the same time..(or not when I get there mid afternoon) 3 days ago was the first time I saw Stop and Shop filled top to bottom shelf with BOTH. I paused and smiled, like there were puppies & kitties on those shelves...lmao. I then told my bf something is up..something is coming... he walked away...

Which is funny they ran out of regular 12 cans. They still own the patent on the slim 12oz cans which is screwing with Coors Lite and most hard seltzers.

Think about it... people are washing their hands more now then at anytime in the past 50 years....probably 7-8 times more on average ... now take a family of 4 .....that’s a whole lotta towels being used...now take our state and total population and multiply it out...those paper companies can’t produce enough and it will be worse during the next go around.

Meanwhile nobody is catching the virus from hand contact.

Hilarious...get microfiber towels and clean with that...then wash in the washing machine. I never understood the run on paper towels and the inexplicable run on bottled water back in March and April. Puzzling!

Bac - something weird happened with Monty SR. There paper product aisle has been fully stocked for months. My wife went a few days ago and it was almost empty. Have to be a shipment/delivery issue. That's the only thing that makes sense. Hills SR and the S&S on 27 are fully stocked.

You can find Costco's disinfectant wipes (Kirkland) on their website from time to time. They come in a box of 4 packs. We scored 2 boxes, which will likely last for several years. 😀

Exactly, save a tree or two and use the hand microfiber towels from Costco if you can, they work great, a quick wash with hot water and soap and there as good as new, plus you save yourself some money over the course of a year.

Go to a Spanish grocery store. They have most things. Gringos are shy to go to those places (I'm usually only one in such places). The help does English well.

Thought this was about the B1G football season.
Do you really need paper towels? Use rags.

Two reasons I have heard. The first is related to no paper napkins in most stores. People are using paper towels in place of them. My ShopRite seems to only have regular paper napkins once every 5-6 weeks. The 2nd is due to no wipes. You can make homemade wipes with paper towels.

Agreed on spices. My ShopRite was very low for about the last 2 months. In the past 2 weeks it's getting better. Paprika was hard to fine for a while. I assume a lot of BBQ rub recipes contributed.

My ShopRite has a lot of store brand wipes. They are usually on an end cap at the end of the cleaning supplies / paper products aisles. Very expensive as well.

There is a Gatorade shortage. There was a sign at Boro SR that stated that due to high demand certain flavors are not available. They had 2 flavors Cool Blue and Fruit Punch.

Soft Soap (Liquid soap) is a hard find also.

It was hard to find here until recently. I saw a lot of "anti-bacterial" hand soap which is much more expensive so i didn't buy but not the regular cheap stuff which works just fine thank you. Bought this for a buck just yesterday

Paper towels......Costco, or as a replacement we've used Mulitfold towels or center pull rolls. There is a world out there beyond Shoprite for many of us.

wait you mean Fauci's prediction of never shaking hands again is not going to happen

You do realize that if someone is infected and blows their nose or wipes there nose or picks their teeth and then shakes your hand and you scratch your nose or your hand goes in your mouth or nose that is a vector for transmission. It sounds far-fetched but its possible .

Its going to be awhile before certain customs become acceptable again.

no he said we would never shake hands I have shaken hands several times already. If you shake hands, wash your hands or use sanitizer, its not that hard

What he said was patently absurd while he goes ahead and says Tinder hookups are fine

I think Fauci walked that comment back. It's interesting though, you guys hinge on every word Fauci says as if he's the POTUS, while at the same time giving the actual POTUS a pass on all the boneheaded things that have come out of his mouth.

Not sure what all the fuss is about anyway......I was told by our leader that the Virus would magically disappear last April.

We will have shortages of paper towels for at least another year. Consumer behavior has changed as a result of COVID. Paper towels are in many more rooms in a lot of households (used to be just the kitchen). Usage is up significantly. Manufacturing capacity is maxed out in the industry and it takes a lot of $$ and time to increase that (a paper machine that makes a Bounty-like paper towel costs 9 figures and takes 18-24 months to purchase and install). On top of that, some manufacturers are prioritizing toilet paper over paper towels in terms of output (typically can swing paper making and converting between those two products), so that puts a greater strain on paper towel availability. So expect to have this issue for at least another year.
