They shot 50% from three.

You guys are trying to play TN on paper. Cal had to coach against the team on the floor.

Maybe some of you guys would be happier watching video games?

That's 5 for 10. That's not a whole lot of attempts. As a team they barely shoot over 30% on the season so I doubt they would have kept up that percentage with more attempts. I'd rather see them shoot threes than to continuously blow by or overpower any matchup we had on the floor.

You are still playing TN on paper.

Maybe, but my paper tells me the clear weakness this UT team has had all season is shooting the three. UNC had trouble with their players attacking the rim. I just think eventually that team is going to miss a bunch. But like I said in another post, I wouldn't have zoned the whole game but I think it's very useful to disrupt any rythym your opponent may get in and UT was in a groove all night.

You really consider hitting 5 a "bunch", esp when it is EXACTLY their season average?

ME DOTH THINK THOU KNOWS NOT WHAT THY SPEAKETH!

My problem is not how many they made but how efficiently they got them. Meanwhile we waste possessions jacking 3s to no avail. Frustrating to say the least.

Playing zone actually gives inferior teams more of a chance to upset you. I would like to see Cal break out a 2-3 zone just on under the basket inbounds plays then go right back to man. It is tough to man a well designed inbounds play.
Man to man on the inbounds underneath should be a score every single time.

This is on Cal. He should have sat Briscoe. Hawkins should have stayed on the floor. Bam should have gotten the ball every trip down the floor. Cal says Bam should be mad that these guys don't feed the post, yet he doesn't run any sets for them post.

Well, if Monk and Fox do not feed the post, pull them out. Cal lets Monk and Fox jack up quick contested shots with no consequence. When they don't feed the post, he lives with it. That's certainly a double standard from the treatment he gives the rest of the team. Gotta get them boys to the NBA come hell or high water.

Regardless of what you think we should or should not have done differently, I can assure you that Cal takes full responsibility for this, and virtually any loss.

It's why he makes the big bucks.
