This is so often overlooked. A consistently good pass rush does more than just take pressure off of the db's on any given play. It gets in a QB's head and lowers his game. Especially young QB's. We haven't had a good pass rush in years and years. I would say since 2009. But maybe my memory is bad. Lol. Even Randy Gregory was overrated in my view.Helps when you have a pass rush. Works both ways.
I miss the Courtney Grixby days. (Not)I miss the days of the 5-10 DB at Nebraska :-(
So does Central Florida and Donte Culpepper.I miss the Brown twins. (Ralph and Mike)

Are you really a UCF fan? For real? As a Husker fan, I know it’s Daunte... if you’re gonna troll, you better come with a little bit of knowledge about your own team. Donte? Wow.So does Central Florida and Donte Culpepper.
As a husker fan I could care less how his name is spelled, pretty weak. Point being, if you even remember that game? Our fans were up in arms about our poor secondary and thought Brock Huard was going to pick us apart. Oh wait did I spell his name right? Since I must be a Washington Husky fan trolling. Anyways our secondary was obviously night and day better than the product we have today but back then fans were certainly not sold on the Brown twins and after that game, thought of not much better than our current players.
"Couldn't care less"....just sayin' Lurk RollingLaughRollingLaughRollingLaughAs a husker fan I could care less how his name is spelled, pretty weak. Point being, if you even remember that game? I don't have the foggiest idea what point you're trying to make here other than to simply crap on the the 97 secondary as well as todays.
And when it mattered, in the second half, CF was put out to pasture. So does Central Florida and Donte Culpepper.
Baron Miles was pretty solid at 5'8". But he was a bit before the Browns. I'd take them all in their prime, sooo good!I miss the Brown twins. (Ralph and Mike)

More crapping on the fans who were talking crap about our 97 secondary and booed frost in that game. How am I crapping on today's secondary as people saying they want the Brown Twin's back in itself is crapping on our current players.
Well, mission accomplished. You're definitely getting your crap everywhere. If this is a troll attempt (and even if it isn't) try to at least be somewhat coherent so we can follow.
Well maybe he can still care less than he does now, you don’t know for sure."Couldn't care less"....just sayin' Lurk RollingLaughRollingLaughRollingLaugh
I do remember the game... and I remember frost being booed. Guess I don’t remember fans thinking the Browns were terrible. As a husker fan I could care less how his name is spelled, pretty weak. Nebraska's pass rush and the ability to disrupt anything at the line of scrimmage was the worst in all of Power 5 football last season.
If you want to point to one major culprit of fault regarding Nebraska's abomination of defense in 2017, that is culprit #1. Part of it was by design thanks to Bob Diaco's implementation, but it was also due to a roster completely void of pass rushers.
Yup. Barron Miles, Mike Brown and Mike Minter all say hello. Probably our best DB's ever.I miss the days of the 5-10 DB at Nebraska :-(
Jay Moore and Adam Carriker are more recent. We led the nation in sacks in 2005.NU has been missing a consistent edge rusher for a loooooong time. Gregory is the last one who was a natural at getting after the QB off the edge, but "consistent" isn't among the top adjectives I'd use to describe him.
Before that you've got to go all the way back to what, Vanden Bosch? Chris Kelsay?
They had some guys at DT who could generate push up the middle but it's been a long time since NU was cranking out good rush ends.
That was because John Blake was the DL coach. Blake was the perfect example of someone who wasn't head coaching material, but as far as position coach? He was in the top 2 in the nation as far as DLine coaches were concerned as well as at the time he was here, he was considered the top recruiter in the nation according to most publications. John Blake had an impressive resume. He was Switzer's DL coach the last 2 years of Switzer's tenure before he stepped down as head coach and then Blake went on to become the DLine coach at Dallas during their Super Bowl runs. Blake was forced out here by Cosgrove as Coz was butt hurt and jealous at the fact that Blake had the entire Defense ready to run through a wall for him as he had the complete loyalty of the players and good ol' suck boy Coz couldn't handle it! Blake ended up leaving to go coach with his long time buddy Butch Davis at North CarolinaJay Moore and Adam Carriker are more recent. We led the nation in sacks in 2005.
That was Callahan that recruited Suh, not Blake. All of Blake's trouble came while he was at North Carolina and contrary to popular belief not at anytime before that and the investigation showed thatIf Blake would have been around much longer Nebraska would have been serious trouble. I'm not sure how he got Suh to Nebraska but.....
