Essentially, it's this: Given all of Mississippi State's baseball tradition, its immense fan support and its large facility, is the MSU job one of the top jobs in the nation? Does it have the relative prestige - and more importantly, the ability to attract the top coaching candidates - that its other programs don't have?</font></span></p>

Take this, from Collegiate Baseball editor Lou Pavlovich Jr.:</font></span></p>

It leaves your options open and doesn't make you a liar if you do take the job. Of course, some coaches don't mind being made a liar.

he could possibly talk about his great days at MSU and such. Sort of answer like Bill Self did and not close the door totally and leave the speculation there.

True but if they didn't ask, they would get raked over the coals for not asking.

think it will do any good. I think they know it is part of their job to ask and by hyping it up, they get people excited about the response that don't know any better. Im sure both Ellis and Veazey have a good idea about the answer that will come out.

I don't want to get into some type of war on words if he proclaims he isn't interested. And he isn't going to say he wants the job. There is only downside for MSU in asking Cohen that question.

Is there any truth to the rumor that you were spotted at Old Waverly looking at Dan Marino and Steve Spurrier's house?

That is a REAL question.

I meant it was good in that maybe it will put a little more public pressure on the hiring and a spotlight on the shadiness that's going on in the Bryan Building.

What's sad is that asking Cohen likely wouldn't be a big problem for most schools. However, unless he answers in the affirmative, our administration will probably scratch his name early (if they haven't already) and use that as justification hiring someone less qualified. <div class="post-body"> <div class="scrolling"> <div> </div> </div> </div>
