Well TCU has done well with both the money and the program success lol.
I just don’t get it. It’s not losing to “big boys”. It’s just losing to all teams that are ranked. If we were in the Big East, I don’t think we would win there either. Syracuse, Miami, and Virginia Tech have all beat us every time since we left. And our defense under Dana has been a joke for the majority of his 7 years.

But in regard to the comment. It's so old I've become numb to it. Never thought I could with WVU, but the Holes era is just one of week after week the same old team. He has been here long enough to show how he can recruit and what the seasons will be like. There has not been s player left from a previous coach for quite a while now.

Well just wait until the "we are in the tough conference crowd comes out" making excuses. They are the same ones who say the ACC is soft and the SEC is boring. Yeah, right. Under DH WVU could end up being the next Kansas football program in the conference.

We need somebody who can recruit against the big boys and win some of those recruiting battles. What we have now is a team filled with scraps that the big-time programs discarded. What you saw on the field today was men playing against boys. We need to recruit some men. We have too many boys.

That’s not true. Dana recruits well. Since our Big 12 arrival we’ve put the 3rd most players in the nfl behind Oklahoma and Texas. That tells me all I need to know. Coaching is the problem.

But how many linemen have we put in the NFL under Dana? Okie State's linemen were like men and made our linemen look like 7th graders.

We are an AAC team playing in the Big XII,

What? You’re kidding right? Just emotionally distraught right now. Your post is silly. You realized WVU has been ranked the last couple of years and has a top 25 recruiting class coming in. Some of you guys are over the top.

I'm not gonna say The Mountaineers don't have some issues. Some of it is assistant coaches and some of it is inexperienced players that are struggling. The Mountaineers defense is under performing after half way into the season. Although Gibson is a great DC it's on him concerning our defensive woes. The trend of bad special teams play has been ongoing for a few seasons. That is on Coach Holgrosen.

I'm not ready to jump on the Holgrosen must go bandwagon but after this season I'd like to see some changes with assistant coaches. Line and strength/conditioning coaches need evaluated at seasons end. JMHO

Not really distraught because I never thought WVU would win this game.

In baseball, they talk about a player being AAAA. Too good for minor league AAA but really never has much success in the majors.

That is how I see WVU football anymore. WVU can play in the Big XII, at times with some success, but honestly, and just talking about on-field production, is probably more suited to play the Houston's, Cincys and USF's of the world.

I get what you’re saying but WVU is a legit top 30 program so I think you’re being a bit tough. Hey I was disappointed with how the game got out of hand but there are a ton of pros on OSU starting with the QB, RB and WR. Throw in a couple lineman and 3 or 4 defensive player. WVU isn’t Top 10 but there are only 10-14 squads that can play week in week out on that level.

I’m still trying to figure out what makes Gibson great. It’s said here that he’s great so I guess I should be impressed with him as well. I just don’t see it.

Anyone else tired of Dana? 7 years of the same ole crap. It’s not going to change.
Neither Iowa State or Tcu is overly Talented. They just have coaches that can get 3 star recruits to play like 4-5 star players. If Tcu had Holgorsen they would be 5-3 team at the moment. If Iowa State had Holgorsen they would be a sub .500 team. These fools who continue to make excuses for this clown know absolutely nothing about college football. Coaches like patterson and Campbell weave Horseshit into Egyptian cotton. That's what good coaches do and it doesn't take them 7+ years to do it. Some of these nitwits need to take notice.

Well if what you say is true then the issue is all on DH...starts at the top.

How does a feller know that Gibson is a great DC? Is it just what you think or is it what you actually know? I never did figure out what makes a coach great. Warez

How many years has Matt Campbell been at Iowa State? He already has beaten 2 teams ranked in the top 5. Iowa State walked into Norman and won. How many times has Holgorsen done that?

Your famous reply for Holgs...He is using previous coaches players.

How many time has any WVU coach beat 2 teams in top 5 in the same season. 1982 WVU walked into Norman and won. How many times will ISU do that again? I'll tell you, never.

we’ve went from winning BCS bowls and 3 straight 11 win seasons in the last 12 years to “we should feel lucky anyone wants to coach here” excuses. Ridiculous

I guess the question of "what makes a great coach?" Has a very broad answer and is purely subjective. Also the answer would be different from person to person.

I'm not going to argue that point. I agree Holgrosen as the HC is responsible but will he be willing to let some assistants move on, look at how he handled DeForest.

The reality is Holgrosen has at minimum 1-2 years leeway (maybe less) to iron out some wrinkles.

Matt Campbell may never win at Oklahoma again? He might not be the coach of Iowa State the next time Iowa state travels to Norman. When you coach at Iowa state and you beat 2 top five teams you actually might get a job offer from Blue blood program. When you go 1-10 in your last 11 games against ranked teams your not going get any big time job offers. In reality that 1 win should'nt count it came against a Texas tech team that was only ranked in one poll and who is coached by a clown that crawled out of the same bum hole that Dana did.
