Trump > Hillary

This will facilitate Bernie getting in somehow, either by superdelegate or by 3 way, and then Cruz jumps in, and then Bernie wins.

I don't know if Bernie will do an independent run but if the Democrat Party has anything to say about it it's gonna be Hillary. Of the five candidates left I think Bernie would fare the worst in a national election. The Dems, wanting to win of course, would prefer Hillary IMO.

Bernie polls better than Hillary. Watch Dems switch midstream to keep Trump from getting in.

Hillary has been getting beaten upon nationally for almost a quarter of a century. OTOH Bernie has never faced any scrutiny outside the left in Vermont (which is the far left in terms of the entire US). Even Hillary is treating Bernie with kid gloves with the idea of not annoying his followers to much so that they'll come out and vote for Hillary in November.

In a national election with the GOP machine in full tilt against Bernie it would get ugly. An old, eccentric, stooped over guy that talks funny and has a history of crazy ideas is endearing in the primaries when everybody knows he's not going to win (and thus Hillary doesn't have to dredge up all his history of crazy ideas). But a general election campaign is a different story.

Too close to call, too early to say. That's just the latest poll and it shows a close race, nothing more. It will be Hillary vs. Trump and we'll find out in a few months what the outcome will be.

And that's a national poll. What does the electoral map look like? I just hope the GOP straightens their **** up for the 2020 race against President Clinton.

I'll say it's early. The primaries aren't even over yet, although the conclusions aren't going to change: Bernie isn't getting the nomination, and he knows it, and he's not doing a third party run -- he's already begun to make noises about uniting behind Hillary to defeat Trump, and getting some of his ideas into the Democratic platform. And Trump will not beat Hillary in the general -- in order to win over those mythical Democrat and independent voters that supposedly are going to go to him, he'll have to stop appealing to the wild-eyed Know-Nothings that are propelling him to the nomination.

And which GOP might that be? With this Trump fetish in full bloom now, I have no idea what GOP voters stand for. Certainly not the ideals that Cruz, Rubio, Kasich, Bush, etc stand for.

Only part I whiffed on was that I thought Bernie actually believed in what he was selling. My bad.

I think Bernie does believe in it. Bernie's main problem was that he wasn't Hillary -- that, and he was too far left even for the party. I didn't think Trump would win, but anyone who tracked my posts on the subject through the summer would know that I never said he couldn't win, unlike all the "experts" and pundits. I think that's part of what's fueling the angst on the left -- all those people are now questioning how they could have been so wrong when they're obviously so smart.

Bernie's problem is that he is weak. He had a chance to compete but blew it.
