The Lead line says UK holds off Auburn. Now wait a minute, I'm not one to point at ESPN, or people sticking it to Kentucky. But anyone that saw the game can clearly see UK was in full control at the 7 min mark in the first and on. I knew we would win with 27 mins to go. AU played hard and well, but it was in hand from that point. This AU team is very good, I take nothing from them. They are a Top 12 team in the country!

ESPN trying to influence the selection committee and it has to stop. Kentucky had earned respect now guys.

That headline pretty succinctly encompasses exactly what happened. Of all the sleights to get triggered over, this is pretty damn petty. Some of y'all will cry over literally anything. Auburn gave us a game. We held them off.

I can't stand ESPN but, make no mistake about it, this was a tough game we couldn't seem to just put away and Auburn still had a chance until we got a more comfortable lead in those closing minutes. I was in Rupp and it was a real battle and the crowd understood that. I give Auburn credit for fighting as hard as they did all night.

Is is that far off? We had the lead but if our free throws weren’t dropping we would’ve lost. The offense looked to be struggling in the last 6 mins.

We led but I wouldn’t say we were in control. It was 2-5 points for a big chunk of the second half. IMO that’s not being in control that’s holding a team off. I agree ESPN sucks but popping off but sometimes we can be too sensitive

If the selection Committee can be swayed by that then we all have bigger problems

What exactly is wrong with that headline? Are we this sensitive? I just don’t get why people constantly need validation from ESPN, bilas, etc.

THIS !

Our lead was 2 points with 9:17 to play.
Our lead was 3 points with 7:36 to play.
Our lead was 3 points with 4:45 to play.
Our lead was 3 points with 3:26 to play.

Don't get me wrong ... I was very glad that we won the game, and I commend the team and Coach Calipari for the really great win ! But, those scores at those times seem pretty much like "holding them off" to me.

This was a tight game through out the second half and went scoreless for 6 minutes at one point (that's not being in control). Auburn gave us a fight and we won.

ESPN doesn't care about the seeding of one school. Especially one that always shows our games and makes money off of us.

Their largest lead was 9 points at 12:08 in the first half. Ours was also 9 points with 1:28 left AND we led 70% of the game to their 27%.

Sometimes its OK to tip our hat to our opponent OP and acknowledge they played well and gave us a game. Auburn is a good team. We did hold them off and win. Neither program is being sleighted. Grow a pair.

Read the Kansas headline, they struggled with KSU but their headline was much better than UK's. Not into the conspiracy crowd but the scroll did catch my attention tonight.

Ive got the Bama game on now I saw that.

If anything, we should be complaining they didn't toss in "UK wins 50th SEC title."

If it was anyone else like KU, Duke, some big 10 team they would have put so and so got a big win against AU. Not holds off like AU just ran out of time or they beat us.

The game was over with a minute and a half.
The Sweathog even stopped fouling when he really should have to keep it under double digits!

OP isn’t totally wrong...I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but news outlets def play down UKs success to sum degree. Whether it’s for clicks from UK fans or opposing fans who hate us, we ARE hated, and putting us down draws what they r selling.

the ap pulled no punches either, selling our wins short on only narrow margins of victory. we had several road games that were basically no doubt victories with 8 minutes to go. including lsu. we don’t play extra great at home basically. most of our toad victories have been pretty sound.

ESPN sucks with the Right Draw AU could find themselves in another FF. I say there are about 12-17 teams that are legit FF contenders and we just beat one if them. AU is a good team and should be a quad 1 win for UK period. This W should move us solid on 2 seed line.

It’s all advertising. ESPN is looking for exactly the responses that are apparent in this thread. That generates clicks which generates advertising revenue. By talking about them, you make them money.

Let me sum up. Auburn went home with a raw ***. We won the SEC championship for about the millionth time. Questions? I hope not, cause it’s dirt simple. You don’t need ESPN to tell you squat after that.

Well, we DID hold them off. It wasn’t a run away game by any means

I honestly don’t care about headlines so much as I do wins. That headline won’t change the fact that we won the game and the regular conference title

It’s the PRIDE in man that causes these types of reactions. Winning isn’t good enough unless the media, other fans, rankings, etc., validates “your greatness” as a person of achievement. Be humble and resist the temptation of being prideful and arrogant (it’s only a game). I’m talking to myself in this post.

ESPN is a Joke and PRO ACC and they don't even hide it anymore. Example. On my phone App when I hit scores for College Basketball it immediately shows me the Top 25 teams results. Always placed in the middle of the scores is a victory from an UnRanked North Carolina team. Then I go to see if Duke Won or not and their Loss was not on my Phone App front page of top 25 basketball scores. I thought this was just a mistake but it has happened several times this year.

I love how some still don’t get it. When the SEC network was formed, the ESPN analyst saw it as their right to promote other conferences, namely the ACC, as they see the SEC network as 24 hour promotion of the SEC.

They hated us anyway, this gave then a reason to show bias.

If you can’t see it you’re bias and don’t want to see it.
