Reclined back in my recliner, drinking crown, looking at rafters and can't do anything but think this is a bad dream. Maybe tomorrow I'll wake up with a huge hangover and it will still be Saturday.

I've got my first child on the way, a baby girl. I'm going to be alright.

To be fair, I'm as disappointed as anyone but I had a blast watching this team. As much as I wanted to go 40-0 and win #9, my life this time next week would be no different regardless of the result.

Here I am wide awake, went to bed a couple of times, but could not sleep. It is 1:42 in the morning and I am still not believing it is over. I can imagine how our players and coaches feel.

I hear the coyotes howling across the field. Maybe shooting one will make me feel better

Why are you drinking Crown?

I've got a gigantic glass of Booker's bourbon, a birthday splurge that was saved for Monday night. 128.9 proof. Beautiful stuff.

Now all I've got to look forward to is my Evidence final. Dang Evidence.

Congrats on the baby. I have another one on the way.

Thanks, congrats to you as well.

I'm as wrapped up in UK basketball as anyone, and I agree 100% that it hurts to see this group of great kids fall short of the goal they have set out to achieve. I'm a UK alum like many here on Rupp Rafters are, and even those that aren't are die hard fans, so it's natural for it to hurt when your team loses. I just think a little perspective goes a long way when it comes to any type of athletics.

I have been a UK since ('71) and this is the worst loss for me. A undefeated season on the line and a possible EPIC championship between two national powerhouses waiting in the wings. It is just unbelievable how bad this loss hurts.

Well said! Well said. This one will be hard to get over. Trying to keep things in perspective but its hard. I have a 7 year old who sits on the edge of his seat on every game just like his papa and I just can't find the words to explain this to him. He is absolutely heartbroken, as well as I. I pray that the Lord gives me the words to ease his distraught and maybe find a lesson somewhere in all of this. Tomorrow will be a tough day in my household. Can only imagine what the players are going through. Prayers be with them.

It's after 3am and I'm still awake. Can't get over it. Of course this was a possibility in a single-elimination tournament....but we were just so close. It hurts. Badly.

Born in 1980, and this is the toughest loss of my lifetime.

We were so close. And now it's gone.

I loved watching this team, and it's gut wrenching to know we'll never see these guys play together again.
