This hitting lineup is one to dread for one big reason....

when a couple or three guys are down the others pick them up and it is Katie bar the door if everyone starts to hit at the same time.

Yeah. That's the thing. Literally eveyone on the team is batting at least .286 except for Rowdy Jordan and Hayden Jones. If you've got 4 good hitters and a couple go into a slump, you've got a problem. If you've got 9 good hitters and a couple go into a slump, you'll score a lot of runs.

I don’t want to beat the horse anymore but Gilbert’s emergence has been huge. Seriously. I think he had one bad AB all weekend. Guy now leads the team with his OBP. He is harassing the hell out of teams setting the table for Mangum.

He went 2 for 6 this weekend with one RBI, one double, and 3 runs scored. Not eye popping numbers but then you realize he ALSO got walked 3 times and got HBP twice. The only negative is his lack of speed. But, if he keeps this up...when Mangum gets hot again. Woaaaaaaaa

That can really wear on a pitcher too. Everyone thinks about pitch count when tracking pitchers, and rightfully so, but high pressure pitches add up much faster than with no one on base.

Its so tough to make it through our lineup 2 or 3 times. If the bottom of the order is setting the table for Jake & Company in the middle innings, that pitcher’s day is probably about to end.

Mangum is batting .477 (21 of 44) over the last three weeks.

What's hot?
