I dont know whats worse, the "OMG! He's not coming" kooks or the people who freak out about them. There are people here who only know how to function from being upset about something - anything. Don't get sucked in. Its like the old pig line that says something about you don't wrestle with pigs because you end up in the mud and the pig likes it lol.

I think it's just a fact of life in Jersey. A good deal of the population here are just born complainers and can't stop, no matter what or how trivial the problem is that they're complaining about.

The complainers fit into one of these two categories. (or both)

1. Supported Flood no matter what and can't let go.

2. Wanted Golden as head coach.

They have proven they know little about coaching at all.

There are most definitely other categories.

Every RU board I visit has gone off the deep end since the Ash hire was announced. People think way too highly of their opinion of RU football.

Definitely more categories of complainers...

3. Didn't support Flood, hate Golden, love to rabble-rouse.

4. Are borderline psychotic and whine and complain incessantly here or else they'd be running over kittens with the lawnmower.

5. Middle-school aged heroin addicts who've already spent all their lunch money and are jonesing big time.

Haha. My dad wanted Golden. I sat him down for 10 minutes and explained to him why he was wrong. He's now all aboard the Ash train.

Both of them?

That's a start. Add to that those who think at anything short of someone who doesn't combine the best qualities of Vince Lombardi, Knute Rockne, Bear Bryant Bill Walsh, Bill Belichick and Urban Meyer is hopelessly inadequate.

They have proven they know little about coaching at all.

I am happy to have Ash here, but this isn't a good thing no matter how you look at it. He has work to do and he won't be doing it. A coach's job is not limited to recruiting when he comes on board. He has to learn the staff at the AD, meet with boosters, hire new coaches, win the approval of the fans (at the end of the day, we pay for the tickets), get to know the current players and get their thoughts, figure out the strengths and weaknesses of the program, etc. He has to do this ASAP so that we can have a season that is as successful as possible.

That said, we don't even know for sure if he is coaching the game. He said all of this before he was officially announced, so a little patience will go a long way.

It's a new level of absurdity in an already absurd place.

That said, I would also prefer if he were coming here full time immediately. But if it's the price the admin had to pay to get the guy they really wanted, I'm OK with it. Besides, what other option is there? Oh, right...***** and moan.
