Good coaching, but would have liked to see the lead at 16:30 remain solid. Auburn fought back and made it closer than I preferred.
Nothing you can do about that on the road. That's one hell of a back court and they are avg. 13 3's made per game since SEC play started. You had to know some would fall. It wouldn't have been that close, but more at arms length had it not been for that horrible flagrant call. That's a big swing in points. Instead of maybe getting 2 at the line they get 5 after getting the ball and we may have scored on that poss. so that's a 7-8 point swing at a crucial point in the game.

If you want a 17 point win on the road against a good team that shoots rapid fire threes you won’t get one very often.

No doubt. But, there was a point where UK could have placed its collective foot on Auburn’s neck and I feel the team let up a bit, and a team like Auburn will make you regret that.

It always amazes me how one or two plays completely turn the tide for home teammthat is down.
Hagans gets careless bringing the ball up, they get a TO and less goes from 17ish down to 9 and they are back in it.

LoL. He had the boys ready to go today ...

Cal deserves a ton of praise for this game
Yes he did and yes he does. When Auburn took the lead, he didn’t call timeout and Herro made a play and caught AU celebrating. Drove got fouled and nailed the free throws. I have questioned many times why no timeout in that situation. Tonight it worked out wonderfully!

Overall, an amazing win.

They don’t make tournament games this tough.

On the road. Auburn is legit shooting out of their mind in the second half. I usually think our 3 point defense is the problem. Tonight, we played the 3 pretty well. They kept hitting insane step back 3’s.

Got some bad calls.

Still found a way to win.

We did put our foots on their throats and drove the lead up on them. But you’re fooling yourself if you can’t see that they hit numerous threes with defenders actually hanging on them.

A good part of that is home cooking. Text book home underdog whistle done the stretch. Disgraceful.

They didn’t score on their ensuing possession, made the two free throws and missed the shot and we got the rebound and Johnson was fouled. BS call for certain but it didn’t cost us any more points.

Lol I love when people get mad when Cal "slows it down"

There was some stat this afternoon that up 10 Cal's teams are like 245-16 or something like that lol

Did they let upon or did Auburn turn up their intensity. UKs offense got pushed up higher and AU was more aggressive and not concerned with fouling. Consequently they were more physical with UK and as typical the refs let the physicality go. Couple that with Auburn got hot as you knew at some point they would and they closed the gap.

I think UGA rolled over at a similar point and the Cats may have expected the same from Auburn. I think the answer to your question is “both.”

Despite what your avatar says (2002), you must be new. It is what we do.

Our guys responded to every shot down the stretch. They got a few bad whistles but kept up intensity on defense. Herro shined in the last few minutes. This team is getting better and better.

Best line of the entire game and possibly the line that may define our season was when Ashton yelled "Wake the #### up!" to Johnson. Seemed like that hit a good nerve.

Was a good game and it's hard to keep a lead when someone catches fire from the 3 like he did if your not matching them. I'm proud of the Cats, the way they were shooting it I was afraid if they got it down to 3 we might lose the game tonight because they couldn't miss from the 3.

Agreed but when Brown got hot I’m just happy to escape with the W.

Earlier this year we lost a game because a guy got hot late (Seton Hall) and a game because a guy was hot early (Bama). Also this at least was a good learning experience as it’s our first close win and it was a good one on the road
