I’ll add one - Martinez looked like a Frosh a few times...not really feeling the pressure on a few sacks, then a really bad balll on the interception. But he also burned Iowa with his feet a few times, then went full-on Patrick Mahomes on the 2-point conversion.

Careful with what you’re saying (although I agree with you) I’m getting crucified on a different thread because I mentioned that we are a Martinez injury away from underachieving next year.

Yes, well that's true enough. A seriously hurt AM would be devastating. He's a good sized qb though.....that helps.

My point as I made on the other thread is quite simple. Most teams are in trouble if they lose their starting QB. It's always that way. There is nothing different about us in that respect. It could be a bigger factor if we had a QB that was prone to injury. So the next question is, do we have a QB that is prone to injury? The answer based on this year, is no. There is no reason to believe that we are more likely to have our QB out due to injury than anybody else. So why then, would somebody mention that as a factor. Every team can have their season change when a QB or another key player goes out. But you don't assume that such things will happen-you always assume that everybody will stay healthy, unless a player has demonstrated that there is a greater risk of them getting injured-which is not the case for us. Bottom line-why don't we assume that Martinez stays healthy and make our predictions accordingly?
