it only takes 3 days to reach the moon.. just sayin. Sure would be nice to know who else they're looking at in addition to Frosty.

moderators feel free to merge this with the Moos doubling down thread. I think we saw it at the same time.

There isn't a reason for the "double down". Moos has been saying since day one that he never had any intention of getting rid of anybody before the end of the season. Why are people surprised by this? It's clear Riley will be gone but Moos is letting him ride out the rest of the season. I'm kind of surprised (I guess) at the number of people that ever though Riley would be canned before that.

Tim might know more, but from everything I have heard is that Frost is THE target. After that, we are going to plan B, C, or D.

Nope, staying far and away this go around. Way too much time and energy is required to figure things out.

That being said....as I have stated, I have very little info on the admin side of things. Nothing reliable enough to put out there anyway.

Moos did the same thing at WSU - made it very clear that Mike Leach was only target there. Hopefully he is able to close on Frost as well as he did with Leach.

Because it doesn't fit with what our fans "waaaaaaaaaant." We get pissy when we don't get our way.

I suppose you could just go the SE route...skip options A-Y and go right to option Z

"I applaud this fan base," Moos said, "because they've been patient and they haven't had the product -- at least from my observation in the short time I've been here -- that I feel that they deserve. It's why we're taking a real hard look at this and one of the reasons I am out to hear their disgruntled thoughts on the state of the program."

"I've got a coach. He's got a staff," Moos said. "We've got players. All that's in place. I don't think there's anything gained by breaking up that furniture, even though it's not producing like we want it to."

Yep, ain't no reading this the wrong way. Riley will be gone.

So, does this ensure fans show up at the Iowa game knowing it's his last game?

Coming out and making a statement? Traveling around Nebraska to find out fans' concerns and opinions? Giving respect to other coaching candidates of other teams to finish out their seasons?

Who does this guy think he is???

Apparently a professional. What a breath of fresh air!

I’m glad he’s keeping Riley. Let his face be on the last two *** kickings for the nation to see from his pathetic product.

I heard the Moos speak on the Carriker show about a week or two ago and I was impressed with him. Has a great vision for our program and explained it in a very simple basic way. I think we've gotten away from the basics and have tried to overcomplicate our schemes (West Coast offense, etc.) and coach speak verbiage (Diaco). He wants to inject our program with firepower energy. A guy that will bring a unique and exciting style of offense with a defense that will stop the run. All these things lead to Frost.

Having said all this, God, what was Eichorst thinking????? How could he have possibly thought that Riley was the answer to our program?

Good. It does not do a lot of good to remove him as the HC right now. There are only eleven days left. I would not be surprised if we hear sometime next week that he will not be back next season, however.
Yeah. What’s another two humiliating losses going to change. And I’m being serious, unfortunately.

I hope this does not backfire with a stadium full of Iowa fans outnumbering husker fans. It's his call but every game with Riley at the helm loses and disassociates more and more fans, the hole just keeps getting deeper

I stated earlier that I didn't believe I would use my tickets for Iowa game. I told my 15 yr old son,I don't think we will go because it probably won't be a good game. He said "dad you remember when you wouldn't leave when OU was killing us in Norman, you said we are here to support the players until the end". So I will be making the drive and he is taking one of his buddies to Lincoln for first time. He said Roman needs to see a game in Lincoln, can't turn that down. Now put your damn Red on and get your butts in that stadium. Things are going to change!! These players need us!

Why would people not show up just because Riley is the coach? We know he’s gone, Moos has said he will finish out the season. Reports are already out there that we have contacted UCF to show our interest in frost. I respect the heck out of Mike Riley and how he’s approaching these last few weeks. It can’t be easy knowing that he came here and failed. He didn’t want that and neither did we, so let’s support the him and he team no matter what. I hope he beats Iowa and goes out on a W!

In this article Riley said, "I'm positive that the fans will forever love their team" He is correct, most of us have, and fans before us for the last 127 years. How we feel about who is in charge of the team is a whole nuther matter.

Agree kind of the point of my post, I wasn't real interested in 17 hours of driving round trip from DFW. Now I am

Hole gets deeper? Any fan that doesn't just understand that it's a formality as of now has their eyes shut.
