Mangino ouch. Fitz looked like he was expecting twins.
He's getting old like the rest of us. I've always been a pretty cut guy and I put on over 10 pounds just this past year during COVID. Been eating like there's no tomorrow.

Do you think they weren’t playing him because they didn’t wanna piss off stepp and Morrison?
Frost said he arrived at fall camp 25 pounds over weight and out of shape and was told he wouldn't play until he got in shape. Discipline. He hurt the team by not having enough of it.

I remember one announcer described him as putting a Ferrari engine in a semi truck which is super idiotic … semi has a WAY bigger engine than a small v8 or v12 Ferrari
In the year 2000 when the announcer made that comment a Ferrari V-12 F133A engine produced 478 horsepower. A Kenworth W900B of that era was rated around 500 hp depending on the engine (Cummins, Cat, etc.). Of course, torque is a different matter, but as far as horsepower, the Ferrari and Kenworth engines were a push.

4th and 7th team RBs are now at the top of the rotation. Maybe figure this out a little earlier.

Remember the Alamo. . .Bowl. When Dan Alexander literally ran over Northwestern's defense. Like Yant did tonight.

Oh yeah Northwestern was yapping before that game about kicking our ***,things didn't turn out that way .

Someone should point out that Yant came into camp overweight and has lost 25 lbs. Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned.

I'm pretty sure that's why Solich called the double pass with Newcombe when it was already out of hand. They deserved to be buried like the dog turd they were.

Frost said at the presser that he came to fall camp 25 lbs overweight and he wouldn't play him until he lost it. Maybe he's finally making his players accountable. I loved it when, it was either last week or the week before when he had the offensive line on the sideline and he was ripping their asses.
It was fun to watch him act like a coach, only took 3+ years

Still taking that Ferrari unless I need something to pull with..

Does anyone know if Yant came into Fall Camp overweight? Maybe that’s why he didn’t play until now. 🤔
Some of us responded to the first poster's question without looking down the thread to see that several other people had already answered his question. Laughing

Fat plus lacking a starter’s level grasp of the playbook. He benefitted from an “opening of the books” this week and didn’t disappoint. He has pretty good feet for a guy his size and the stiff arm is a plus for a big guy. If the opposing D can’t get to his legs, they have to to eventually just get him out of bounds.

Dude went Dan Alexander all over Northwestern in the first half.
Don't you compare him to that blade of grass tripping, no vision having, should have been a middle linebacker-*** running back! One of the worst running backs of my time....

It's called building depth. We don't know what has gone on behind closed doors with these backs. Sounds like Yant tore it up in practice this past week and some other guys were acting like they had the job sewed up. I've said it since the spring game, we have 5 backs who are legitimate B1G backs that many of the teams in the conference would be fine rolling out as starting RBs. I'm a Marvin Scott fan and he's been on a milk carton this fall. I had heard that at times we've had some guys knicked a little bit and at other times we've had some guys not take their classes or practice seriously. We need to just roll with whatever the coaches send out on the field because we don't know what is going on with these kids.

Yant was in fat camp the first month of the season since he couldn’t maintain his weight after spring ball

Nothing to do with last week’s practice. He’s been the top back all year, he just needed to pass the scale test.

Yant seems to fill the dive back role with using the motion triple option as a base play VERY well. He's arguably the piece that makes the play hum as it should. Love it!
