This DC is terrible.

I've said that before. But you don't need all Americans to stop illinois better than this.
STFU...do some research. Bo Pelini gave up 34 ppg against power 5 opponents in his first season. And that was with SUH at DT. We had an epically bad defense in 2017, 56 ppg the last 4...worse than the 2007 defense. If you expected different you do not know football. Chin might be bad...but he is no worse than the 2008 BO lead defense who feasted on poor competition, including 3 non-power 5 teams on their schedule. When they played conference foes they gave up big points.

I love how we all basically agreed before the year started that we will be in a lot of shoot outs if we were going to win and that this was the way we played. Then continue to complain when it happens the way we said it would.

We had 5 turnovers today.. the coaches will take that every single time.

And a blocked punt for a safety and over 600 yards of offense. We won, we covered. Still lots of holes on D but a month ago we would have taken it. Must mean we're improving. Lol. GBR

He had NFL guys like Hughes and Griffin to work with at UCF, and still got abused whenever they faced a good offense like Memphis and USF.

these fat *** pimple covered keyboard warriors not only need to win every game, but they have to do it the right way! Not giving up any points, yards, and scoring on every possession without turnovers but they can't showboat too much, they have to be humble, but they need to kill guys too and then stomp on their faces, but not get any penalties.

Just can't please some people no matter what. People complained earlier in the year that we weren't getting turnovers. We get 5 of them today and some people just completely look past that.

So he had a couple of really good guys and got abused by some of the most explosive offensive teams out there? Imagine that. Imagine if we're able to field more than 2 future NFL guys on D. Give it time. Our offensive talent is way ahead of what these guys were able to land late and inherited from Riley. We'll be fine.

Much of the same things were said earlier this season about the O Line yet they have IMPROVED. Has the defense really shown improvement other than getting turnovers? Still tackle horribly!

3 DCs have had this core of players on D and none have turned out just an alright defense. What does that tell you?

Tells me that defense can take time to learn and excel at especially if the three have different styles and techniques that they teach.

Having the #1 scoring offense helped.

You won't win the Big Ten without a good defense.

We're on our way to having the top offense in this league and one of the top in the nation in a year or two.

Frost's philosophy is to win high scoring games with the defense generating turnovers, basically if we get a possession or two more per game than the opposition = win.

It was done at Oregon, replicated at UCF, and is starting to shape up here.

It's a way different philosophy than what has been done here before and is going to be frustrating AF for some.

Not to say that there's no room for improvement. It has a long way to go.

Chin might be bad but I should STFU because I said we don't need ALL AMERICANS to stop illinois better than that?

I don't see the defense being a whole lot better next year, but we'll see. Both the D and special teams need a lot of work. As I've said before, we'll know more about the direction of the team at the end of the 2020 season, and we'll know if the D and ST's side of things are truly improved.

There is Alabama and a few others that just play lights out defense, a few more that play good defense, and the rest play like what we saw today. Nebraska, unfortunately, is a long way away from what Alabama or Michigan put on the field, I hope after two more seasons, the Huskers will be getting closer to that kind of performance.
