We've had quite a few washouts in this area already because of that, lots of these areas are serviced by one road running along the side of a mountain. There's real flooding potential around here as well because of all the streams and rivers. Yikes.

We’ve got two more behind Flo headed right for the gulf.

Helen will turn out to sea and Isaac will probably fall apart or go into Mexico as it looks now. There is a wave getting ready to enter the southern Gulf that has a high chance of developing but looking like it has TX in its cross hairs.

Helene is predicted to move north into the Atlantic. Isaac is slated to move directly west across the Lesser Antilles. It could enter the gulf but it would have to take a sharp right.

Well this is saying more like 15-20, which is more like what I would have expected.

I believe the shallow water a long distance out from Mississippi coast caused much higher water levels. The deep water comes in much closer to shore off the Carolinas. I worked the coast looking for missing persons immediately after Camille and the destruction was unbelievable. I kept thinking this must have been the way German cities looked after the bombing raids. The most surreal sight was at night looking up and down the coast with not a light in sight except for an occasional national guard jeep patrolling, guarding against looters. These storms are a living hell.

This storm is 17ing me up 2 fold. In Jamaica currently, scheduled to fly back in to Charlotte then Columbia on Saturday. I hope the house will be okay and god knows how we’ll get home. No worries Maaan. No problem, everything Irie.
