Can’t say that I’ve seen too many 5-10”, 170 lb kids pull the string on a change up like that and then immediately follow it up with a 95 mph heater. Sheez

He is a terrific pitcher. Morris Hodges did just give him about 6 inches off the plate and 2 inches below the knees on that breaking ball though. Simms threw two fastballs closer to the zone in the last inning and both were called balls.

Wow, we are not getting the same calls by this guy. He called two strikes below the knees on us last inning. We hit the EXACT same spots and they’re balls

His momentum on the swing and miss forced him to take a half step toward the plate. Catcher had plenty clearance to throw. BS call

Questionable call is the nicest way I can put it. Pitch was to the outside portion of the plate, and James’s momentum caused him to slightly lean towards the plate while the catcher was picking up the ball. Catcher takes a step to his right before throwing to 2nd, and ump calls it interference.

Apparently James should’ve dropped down to all fours according to blue

I’m still looking for that big time offense we were supposed to have. Maybe it will show up eventually.

Lol, surely you are joking.

This pitcher is really good. It is 40 degrees outside. Good pitching still beats good hitting. We lost a 1-0 game in 10 innings to USM last year against a much worse pitcher and the offense was still outstanding throughout the season.

I’ll add that while Chamberlain is clearly a good pitcher, he’s having a career day today. He’s averaged around 1.2 Ks per inning for his career, and it looks like he had just 5 last weekend. He has 12 through 5 innings today

He’s just on his best game today

Only listening. Someone recap the batter interference for me.

Objectively it was a close call. I could see how you call it though. James didn’t really step over the plate, but his momentum caused him to step towards the plate. Catcher did a good job of selling it by exaggerating the step away from James.

Foscue is the only batter we have that seems to be seeing the ball well. Everyone else is just hacking and hoping the ball runs into their bat. That below the knees strike that keeps getting called isn’t helping either

As far as Pimental, I don’t know though. He’s the one batter that just looks kinda lost all the way around.

That 3-0 pitch would’ve been low on a crawdad. I’m so tired of incompetence.

........and pathetic base running.

Great to win a game like this one and in that fashion. Confidence builder.

OSU pitching was on. If you're an ump and the balls have that kinda movement, you probably get mesmerized and call some that are a little out of the zone.

Nevertheless, Dawgs keep it close and get the big BIG inning. Baseball... funny game.
