A little birdie has been flying around telling people something that is very disturbing. We've all heard the #4 at Burns Middle (the stud everyone is taking about) has been said is going to transfer to Crest. Supposedly, there is talk about adding his dad to the Crest staff. If this happens, you all should be ashamed of your program. I know you won't be, because that's who you are. But if that happens, it's wrong and you know it.

Look bro, I’m a football fan, I’m a alumni/graduate of Crest High School, and I have about as much knowledge or control over said football program as a 4 year old has control over America’s nuclear arsenal. I’m not part of the horse shoe club or a sponsor other than buying a ticket and some cheese fries or nachos. I will continue supporting Crest football and Baseball as I see fit. Now who ever the hell #4 is can go to school in Montana for all I care. I will still say “we’re Chargers and we’re better” if someone is pulling some shady crap then go after them for all I care! But I will NEVER BE ASHAMED of my CHARGERS!

He played in the Cleveland County Youth football league at Number 3 so he began in a “crest feeder”

Just thought I’d throw that out there ...if we talking about the Haynes kid

First practice I was there saw him walking around and asked Dover who the high school player was walking around! It was Haynes ! Couldn’t believe it he looked like a senior in high school ha ha

The middle school (Burns) beat KM today so they are still undefeated! They got one heck of a ball team

And you would think that would make them stay together but the way the first post reads it isn’t going to happen that way and incentives were given to make sure. He is at Burns now right? Does he live in Crest district? No, which is why he can play at Burns. Will he live in Crest district when/if he transfers? Nope but if you have a parent that coaches they allow you to go where they coach. Makes sense

Rock Hill, SC the Middle school students started having High School reveal parties to show where they were gonna be playing. That got way out of control. Might as well do it here too. All that aside, hopefully the kid decides to stay with that group of kids, they can be special

Typical. Wouldn't expect anything different from a Crest fan.

These are the next men up. It’s like a vicious circle. Kids leave which leaves the team less talented, then the team that is already low in numbers (2A soon I read) struggles. When they struggle it makes kids want to go elsewhere and when they do the team struggles again. Before any Beam nut huggers jump in, he came on when there was a ton of talent and came out looking like he created it all.

If this happens, you all should be ashamed of your program. I know you won't be, because that's who you are. But if that happens, it's wrong and you know it.

FWIW and just for the record that's news to me. I did hear a really stupid bogus rumor coming from a Burns fan that a particular person from Crest had actually called the parents about this kid offering a place to stay so the kid could play at Crest. I happen to know this person VERY WELL that's being falsely accused and know for a FACT that accusation is nothing more than a BLATANT LIE. The part about the dad being offered a coaching job is news to me, but it could very well be another BS RUMOR and probably is. I do not know why folks start rumors and falsely accuse anyone unless they have FACTS. I do realize what this player could mean to the Burns FB future and understand why you would be upset, but I hope you and all fans realize IF and when any student-athlete transfers to another school it's their prerogative and the PARENTS make the choice in what they think is in the best interest of the kid and family. This kid may end up at Crest and IF he does I'll be there cheering him on the same as I do for all Charger players. In the mean time, I'm not sure I'd believe everything the "Little Birdie" was told by John Brown's uncle-brother-wife-sister-nephew-step dad at the Cleveland County Fair. However, as in the past, people choose to believe what they want to believe and do not always state facts or know the truth. The reason I know MOST of this is nothing MORE than BS - is because that particular person that I know very well is me and I have absolutely NO IDEA who the parents are at this time. BTW I would encourage Burns fans to ask the kid's parents and get the facts before starting up a bunch of BS. And finally last but not least, I hope this kid does transfer to Crest as long as everything is straight up. Tell me 99% of all fans at any HS would not welcome a STUD PLAYER of his caliber. Also, tell me of any school on God's green earth that does not have fans, players or coaches wishing or encouraging high profile players from nearby schools to come and join them. Get real folks and out of denial. At the same time, I will not lose a wink of sleep if he stays, goes or chooses to move to Texas..... Good luck to the Bulldogs and GO Chargers!!!!

Maybe if Burns would lose that offense kids would want to stay. That crap is awful. Now, I have no idea why the post was started but I hope it’s true. The feeder program has been slack lately. Plus, it would bring more fodder from the inbred hicks from two toothville. I hope you know we sit in the stands at Crest and laugh at you. We love it when you piss and moan. Now, you’ve went to making up crap to sway away from the real problem you have. SUCKING! That’s your real problem. To think that any Crest fan on a message board had control over such things is as stupid as running the option in Cleveland County, in 2018. I hope you’re significant others get a bad dose of the crabs from bumping pee-pees, with your brother. Clowns!

People keeping talking about districts....Under my old similar name(Some reason it will not let me log in) I posted this before.....unless something just changed.

In Cleveland County Schools, you DO NOT have to stay in a school's district to go to another school. That includes non staff families. ANY student can go to ANY school in the county as long as they provide their transportation.

But they’re not eligible to play sports especially football unless they move into the district. BJ ramseur had to sit out his sophomore yr after transferring to Crest and I’m pretty sure his mother teaches in the CCS system...either way he had to sit out.

That must be new because I know for a fact of players in CC that was not in a schools home district playing sports including football. The kid that had to sit out also may have been under the old NCHSAA rule were you had to sit out 365 days . The new rules are you can transfer 1 time in high school without having to sit out 365 days unless a district puts in its own seperate rules which maybe a new thing CC may have done .That 1 times doesn't include incoming freshmen either.

Burns is averaging 24 points a game. Crest is averaging 32. Both offenses are scoring and doing enough. The defense is our problem more than anything so stop with this option in 2018 crap. Crest fans have bitched about the offense Eddins brought in for two years. Still doing it on here this year. Try again...

I know you do and remember how pissed you got when Shelby dumped it. But they have the athletes to run the spread and are lights year ahead of when they first started it. Every year can’t be like 14-15.

Won’t work, the parents (who help provide transportation) would look at the programs and coaches. Shelby and Crest ( Carolina and Duke) would dominate Burns and Kings Mountain (Gardner-Webb and Wake Forest)

That offense is ran because of necessity, not because of want to. Unfortunately, our offense is ran because of want to. I don't know which is worse. Let me tell how it works for us.

1. Hand it to the tailback.
2. QB draw
3.Hand it to the tailback
4 QB draw
5 Slant
6 - PAT-PAT-PAT - Sack

That's it if you don't count the occasional jet sweep. It seems as if we've regressed on offense. I'm not complaining, Not hating on the coaches, just saying what I see, and if the truth is told I am not the only one seeing it. I can't point people out if I need too. I have never understood how 5 could ever block eight. There is always eight in the box, ALWAYS. there will be 8 in the box tomorrow night too..

The QB is a load and tough to bring down. How does this offense work with a 160 Lb QB?

I find it interesting that you asked him this. Why? Was it just a random question, or have you heard some things? I know you’re closer to the program than most on here, you and Shelbyfan.

Thought you might have been referring to our jv quarterback. Haven’t seen him play, watched his Hudl, though. He’s very impressive, tailor made for our system, bonafide dual threat quarterback. I liked what few plays I saw of him in the Jamboree, up until the interception, which is typical of young quarterback on that stage, in varsity competition, but there was a sense of something special in that young man, just in those few plays.

Don’t know him and his family personally, but I have heard that they aren’t too thrilled with the idea of him being the backup his eventual junior year. I can’t blame them, though. Some believe he’s the best quarterback in the school. Right now!

Speaking of Qb's hows the young fella LA???
He’s good, man. Thanks for asking. He was offered a partial from Campbell late, they run a system similar to ours, and it was a great fit. He was fond of the campus and the qb coach. He was set to go, however, partial didn’t mean “half”, two of the four years, as he hoped, unfortunately, nothing paid towards tuition. The school is very expensive, so he declined, opting to go somewhere he’d be happiest for the next 4-5 years, which he is enrolled at NC State, starting in January. Another FCS school in South Carolina let him down, too, days before National Signing Day. Catawba contacted him after the all star game, but he declined that, too. Smh.

Some in my family are disappointed, I have mixed emotions about it, but those were his decisions. Some of these young people don’t know how impactful student loans are, once they are done with school, any little bit helps. Guess he’ll find that out. Sports in college in very demanding, too, though. Can’t go into that situation half heartedly, a mixed bag.

I have a feeling we are in the mist of watching Spencer Clark 2.0 with RJ 2.0 waiting in the wings. The only problem with that is the JV kid is just one year behind, whereas RJ was two behind. I have a feeling we will end up loosing this kid (can't blame him), when we could have a true dual threat for the spread offense. Just my opinion.

What I was sitting on, something I was told days ago, is that the young man and his fam is seriously pondering a certain school, who will obviously have a vacancy at that position going into next season, and when I saw SHS’s post, I thought he was hinting around to that. The convo I had recently was no barbershop talk, either.

When Ruff was an 8th grader, I was told by an assistant SMS coach that the young man was smart and showed leadership reminiscent of my son at that level, which I found flattering, and Wease loved them both. I was told then, he could be a three year starter. This young man is evolving, though, he improves yearly, got to like that about him. This will be a huge loss, indeed. With him at helm, it’s Golden Lion football all over again.
