A legit bar in or near the Cotton District Or Russell Street that has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with good food and entertainment. Not some hole in the wall. Maybe Two Brothers will check this box?
A “nice” hotel adjacent to campus. I’m not talking a Ritz or Waldorf, but something like a Indigo, Embassy, etc.
For something to go in the property next to chick fil a and in front of Courtyard. That is prime real estate right at front door of campus and if not going to be developed, needs to look like a park at least.
Like another poster said, more high tech/R&D jobs. Not huge numbers, but high paying. A few of those jobs go a long way.
Continue to develop and clean up Russell Street corridor. Looks so much better than it use to, but still work to be done. Russell and University corridors to downtown should continue to be the focus of the city with local retail, restaurants/bars, etc.
Several different genres of restaurants would do well I think, like a greek (Keifers/Tzikeis types), legit Italian, and higher end/modern Mexican (little donkey/babalu type). I know the restaurant business is hard, but think something like these would do well.
