I’ve been screaming for Thiero to be on the floor all season. When he was finally put in the game last night he contributed. He hit a 3, grabbed some boards, got fouled, etc. Cal is a moron for not playing him. Toppin has completely checked out. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see him and Collins leave the team at any point, not that it would be much of a loss. There’s got to be something going on internally with this team. Maybe they’ve all realized Cal doesn’t have a clue.

start him and leave him in...no matter the consequences
I agree. Go with him and Livingston. They have the most upside and the toughness we'll need in conference play. Those two need to start and Ware is my hero because he plays like the name on his jersey means something. He just doesn't have the offensive skill set. At least he knows his roll and doesn't jack up terrible shots. Ware should come off the bench and get Toppins mins.

Yep Ware isn’t that talented but he plays extremely hard and he’s not soft.

Toppin is such a disappointment. He comes in and totally bricks a wide open three pointer then loses the ball for a breakaway 2 and 1. Six point swing.
I don’t know what’s happened to his game, I mean he at least looked like a basketball player last year. Him remodeling his game and trying to be an NBA player totally ruined us and him. Maybe too much time with Cal ruins players mentally.

Brooks was hated on this board, but he was the closest thing to a modern power forward that we had. He at least had 18 foot range (worst shot in basketball regardless of what Cal says). Ware and Toppin are not very good with anything beyond five feet.

Coach says we can't put a guy in the game in the second half that didn't play the first half. He says it's not fair to the player. I say coach needs to be escorted out of town with a limo full of cash with Barnhart in the trunk. The program rebounds in a couple seasons with the right hire. Start a gofundme, I believe we could raise $20 million by seasons end!

He played well and put effort in which sadly is in short supply. But it was too little too late with his 1st mins coming in the second half down double digits.

This isn't rocket science a third of the way in. Wheeler to the dam bench!

Wallace running ning the show shooting at least 10 3s per game and driving more. Reeves or CJ hot hand then Theiro, Livingston and Oscar. Done best chance. Wheeler and Ware no more than 20 mins a game. Also let the 7 footer get some mins. We are in the long game now hoping to gel towards the end. Forget SEC titles or byes or 1-4 seeds. Work with that group and stick with it.

yeah....he is shooting a career low 40% FG 15%3pt and 63%FT. I'm baffled hes' playing this bad. But he's lost all the confidence for sure.

We would be a different team had Brooks came back.

He's realizing he's not an NBA player.. I heard people talking lottery pick over the summer. It's gotta sting.

It's quickly becoming a catch 22. You gotta limit his minutes but the more you do that the worst it gets.

it was nice to see him come in when we were already down 17. if i’m not mistaken that was the only stretch where we got it under 10 pts.
I was cussing Cal like a sailor at that point. Why the **** does this guy always wait entirely too long to make the right substitutions or an adjustment?! It’s mind boggling.

He's never been able to dribble or shoot. Nothing new. Not a recipe for winning basketball.
All Cal saw in Toppin was the long wing span and 40 inch vertical. Dude has no skills. Maybe Toppin should go help the UK Track Team in the High Jump because he'll never sniff the NBA.

If Toppin was smart he would emulate Wendell Ladner at this point. His stats would increase in different areas that would help the team the most. Got to be a tough guy to do that, is he willing?

Thiero's not the savior but he has no fear of failure.

I would have never thought this team gets out hustled but it has in every way possible.

Lack of focus on just the FT line tells you everything you need to know.

Lackadaisical defense and bad decisions throughout the lineup.

UK's 4 guards had 0 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 TO's with Wheeler having 8 of the assists.

Cats had 1 blocked shot in 40 minutes with 15 assists and 14 turnovers, Wheeler with just 2 of them.

Only Oscar, Thiero, Ware, Wheeler and Wallace bothered showing up at all.

He does try his best. I think he does have the ability to be aggressive. He had a great strong take to the rim for a dunk. I think Ware’s issue is confidence. If he can start consistently doing that maybe it can help with confidence

He’s not tough enough to be Ladner, Ware is the closest thing to Ladner. Bring Ware off the bench for a few minutes at a time to rough up somebody.
