I feel like this kid has kind of gotten lost in the shuffle this year with so many good players on this team but he looks so much better than last year. Bigger, more explosive, better at finishing around the rim. If he can develop a more consistent perimeter game he could make some money playing basketball.

Great find by Cal

Perfect compliment to what this team already has and the kid never seems to stop getting better or growing.

His back to back turnovers that led to the Miami run did drive me nuts. Then I realized it might’ve been the first time he made a noticeable mistake that I can remember lol.

He has more than passed my expectations for him. I had him as a 4 yr player, not blossoming until his senior year.

I was right for once on this one. I saw the kid play in HS against my friend's son. The potential was there and some of us were high on him when we signed him. Others trashed him because he was a 3 star. Clearly, he should have been a 4.

Lest anyone accuse me of bragging, I do admit I was wrong about Nerlens Noel and about Larry Bird. I thought Noel might be a difficult player and I thought Bird was overrated!!!

I hope our starting lineup stays exactly the same when Bradshaw comes back. Thiero has earned that starting spot.

And no team in America brings even 1 player off the bench the caliber of Dillingham, Sheppard and Bradshaw, and we have the ability to bring 3 guys like that off the bench!

I liked your post but I do think that when Bradshaw plays he should, at some point, be a starter. I just think that he should come off the bench initially.

I like that he seems to understand his role. Looks to attack his matchup 1v1 going to the rim. Not just sitting back jacking up 3's.

Hes our Hawkins of this year. Luv our team and the way we finally got back to KY basketball last night. Seems like it's been forever since we beat a top ten team.

You should see him in person on the court (not from nosebleeds). He was much bigger than I thought from just seeing him on TV. And Reeves is tall and not as lanky as thought. Bradshaw, however, is fit but lanky.

He is playing well. I noticed the little step back post move last night. A real scorers move. Love how Dillingham uses it as his out move. A huge key for him in my book. Poythress needed that, Cal just had him and the rest of these teams just plowing down the lane throwing up prayers trying to get to the line. He will needs to continue to develop his scoring skills and footwork. .

He needs to step on a sticky mouse trap before the game or throw away them ugly pink shoes. Dude was sliding everywhere last night caused him to walk a couple times.

Good post, OP.

I like that when he goes to the basket, he GOES TO THE BASKET. No finesse, finger-roll, dipsy-doo, fancy-schmancy stuff. He will cram it on you every chance he gets.

In general he is playing very shrewd and efficient basketball. Which is amazing to me given how much his role has changed and how recently.

He didn’t bust it out against Miami, but that floater in the previous game was nice. Looks automatic. He has some things in the arsenal.

He should never shoot outside of 15 feet though.
Maybe not when games are close. But if the dude hits them in practice, he needs to shoot them in games. And for his own NBA aspirations, he needs to improve in this area.

If we can live with Wagner attempting 28 three pointers and making 5, I think we can live with Thiero attempting 5 and making 1 (I’m not counting Thiero’s half court heave).

One more year here to develop the 3 should do it Guys like Adou would never stay for jr year in past. Does NIL keep him here one more year.

I said Larry Bird was " a step too slow" to ever make it in the NBA.

That may be why I never got a job as a pro scout. Yikes.

Thiero, a 3-star none of the national analysts paid any attention to, is already a better player than anyone Joel Justus managed to land. Marinate on that for a while and you will understand why we sucked the last several seasons.

And I’m not saying it isn’t Cal’s fault. It absolutely is for making terrible hires and putting the program on auto pilot. But I think he learned his lesson. Better late than never.
