I've been a big Thiero sunshine pumper this year.... but the guy can't take care of the ball.

A huge liability on the court. Unfortunately we don't have any more bodies today.

Thiero is the quintessential Cal recruit. High on athleticism, physicality but low on skill.

I’m no longer surprised when I see players like Thiero struggle to merely dribble and advanced the ball up the floor against an in-conference defender. Guys like T have simply gotten by on being the best athlete on the floor and therefore never developed skills like ball-handling and being strong with the ball.

They get to the next level and all-of-a-sudden they’re no longer the biggest fish in the pond and now need to rely on being more skilled……which they almost NEVER are.

Even more amazing is that Cal continues to recruit this type of player and they continue to struggle with the occasional highlight reel dunk or block but then wonder why they fell into the second round or don’t get drafted at all after one year
He was a three star project player. You act like this was Brandon Boston Jr. or Devin askew.

He is performing about as well as his ranking, strong rebounder, can play some defense but lacks offensive skills.

He will be just fine wherever he goes next.

He wouldn't need to play if Cal had a full 13 scholarships being used every year. He could develop guys like Thiero properly.

Cal’s strong sense of loyalty sometimes works against him. It’s yet to be seen whether that’s true with Thiero. Kind of hard to fault him for loyalty, but clearly it has resulted in some decisions that have not been in the best interest of a particular team or the program in general.

Fair. He would do well to probably play elsewhere though, no kidding. Will get recruited over here (already has). Needs to be somewhere that will allow him to grow and improve his skills.
Yeah like Bryce Hopkins. He will be one of the best players Kentucky has had under Cal if he stays four years here.

But what are the chances of that.

Love his fight and his future but second game in a row he's not up to the PG task.

Turned it over again. Just not impressed with him. Granted he’s no exactly being put in a position to highlight his abilities. But geez, handling the ball isn’t exactly a small part of the game.
Well he is not a guard at this point in his career. If you put Oscar with the ball he will do the same thing unless he is in the paint. Ware would do the same, really every player on the team right now except reeves is gong to turn the ball over 30 feet from the basket if you pressure them.

He will continue to turn the ball over because he is not a guard this season but none of the guards are available tonight except reeves.

Not sure what warranted his 3-star ranking. Height?
What a ridiculously stupid thing to say on your first day to post here.

How did he get a 3-star ranking seriously? Shooting? No. Ball handling? No. What offensive skill does he have?
He wasn't rated a 3 star for his play against D-1 opponents. Do you have any idea what a low bar 3 star is? Are you a Louisville fan? Got Payne?
