Personally I thought Strick did a pretty bang up job of bringing us into this century while preserving the LFL. Sure some concessions had to be made but at the end of the day, there will still be rigs. It will just be on a concrete pad and in a designated space with dividers.

Yep. It will take a little getting used to -- but most people out there are going to like the new version more than the old once they get used to it and have permanent storage space, etc... It might take a little while to figure the ins and outs -- but it will still be LFL...and it will be glorious...

I would love to see the numbers of seats sold. Thinking if it were a big number, we would not still be getting letters from the athletic office wanting us to buy seats. Whole thing looks like smoke screen and manipulation. I don't mind a new stadium. I could actually get excited about a new look. Just don't like the attitudes on LFL. Think a few focus groups might have been a good idea before releasing the plan. I am wondering if there are not as many new folks buying seats as expected. Just can't believe there are no numbers being released to hype up sales.

Sorry you haven't seen those. And as Mr. Archer succinctly puts it, the lounge isn't going away at all. It's being modified for obvious safety reasons and so that we can finally get the premium prices those spots deserve.

If our tradition is to give prime tickets to guys who have never joined the Bulldog Club and didn't even go to MSU away for virtually free, it's about damn time to change it. The fact is, not one single person will be kicked out of LFL, and the new LFL will be better than the old one. They can either pay a very reasonable price for their spots, or they can leave. Doesn't matter to me which one they choose.

I have heard no one complain about the cost of the LFL, ( although I guess some probably have). Don't think the LFLers are sad about not having to move contraptions in and out each year either. Just the lack of individuality and creativity. Thinking the loungers will find a way no matter what to keep it crazy. Something just went wrong on rolling it out. Otherwise it should and would be approaching sold out. Sadly I have heard no excitement on ticket sales. Several of our friends are upgrading to loge. Surely I am reading it wrong on sales. Stricklin has consistently held that lounge owners will be consulted about their spots and will be given options to continue with their creativity and individuality.

It's at least 3 years from opening. Signing up for the right to purchase season tickets right now comes with at least a $1500 price tag(reduced for lifetime seat holders) of which $500 is due right at sign up. You are insane if you don't think we are going to sell 6500-7k of these things. What's the rush for people looking to purchase general grandstand tickets? So, the vast majority of that 2000 number we are nearing is going to be premium seating.

We've sold 1000 seats in a grandstand that doesn't exist yet. It is at least 2 years away from being open. And if you click on that link up there, you can see plenty of people complaining about the price.

How in the hell could anyone complain about the lack of customization/creativity of structures that haven't even been built yet?? Especially when Stricklin has gone on record saying that customization and individuality is crucial and will be taken very seriously when it's built?

If that's what people are complaining about without even waiting for the damn thing to open to see what it looks like, then those people are just looking for something to complain about. Give the thing a chance before whining about it- I can 99% guarantee you that all these imaginary issues will be resolved, and in five years these same people are going to be wondering why they were even worried losing traditions in the first place. Because the traditions will still be there in the new DNF- but they'll also be BETTER. That's how it always goes with new ballparks. The whole argument against it is just silly. If everyone had that stupid mindset we'd still be playing baseball games in parks like this:

Also, It's not a money thing either. There really isn't a huge difference in cost between the current trailers and the future concert structures when you consider the upkeep cost (time and $) of the current trailer.

It does not say "we've only sold 1000". It said we had sold "over" 1000 GRANDSTAND SEATS 3 weeks ago, which was 10 weeks into the process -- and if their updates are to be believed -- we are now selling about 20 per business day. Which is bared out in the numbers. We're still basically at least a year away from naming a contractor and breaking ground best case scenario. At the current pace of sale, a 7k seat grandstand will be sold completely out in 70 weeks. Which would put it at a total sellout less than one month into the building process and approximately 19 months ahead of completion.

Were you against Davis Wade? Did you think we didn't need that? The only segment of that stadium that sold out on the same timeline as the baseball stadium's current process was the skyboxes. The clubs didn't sell out until the stadium was complete. And the overall season tickets didn't reach a hard sell out last year.

You are worried about young alumni buying season tickets -- when the majority of them have never had the opportunity? How about we give them a chance first instead of concern trolling...

Folks are acting like this is some sort of brand new revelation. They had announcements, public forums and focus groups well before submitting the thoughts and concepts to the architects. Then they came back and had more focus groups and meetings before moving forward to the point we are at right now. There is not any excuse for being surprised about realizing that this is the plan going forward. f you have internet access ( which you obviously have ) you should occasionally visit HailState.com, the school and the athletic department do a pretty fair job of posting info about what is going on at our school. This was all well covered over a year ago.
