These Businesses All Suck

I realize all of these companies are a business, but they all suck. So after waiting on hold for 2 hours at 1am this morning, United finally picked up. They had claimed there were no change fees. BUT when I went to change to fly home today from my original Sunday flight, they said there was no change fees but I still had to pay an additional $283 dollars for my new flight! I reluctantly did it.

Also, when checking out of the team hotel, Marriott wanted to charge a $75 early departure fee. After I signed off on it on the paper, the agent had pity on me and waived the 75 extra fee.

Great times we live in. I feel so sorry for our players, coaches and fans and anyone connected to our Hoops team. Let's hope for a miracle and they will at least get to play somehow in the NCAA tournament this year.

Best of Luck,
Groz

They may be slightly busy right now. The people who work there are human and are fighting to keep their industry alive until this blows over. It's not all about you and your fees, or anyone else for that matter. Think bigger than that.

No change fee means there's no fee to change your flight. You still have to pay the difference in cost for that flight, otherwise people would just book red eye flights and then "change" to more ideal flights.

For the last 48 hours, Carnival Cruiseline has answered the phone with an automated message that says, "We're experience high call volume. Please call back later." Terrible customer service in light of the government instructing everyone to not get on a cruise ship.

correct

the Marriott things seems wrong. If they would have forced you to pay you probably could have gotten it back from their corporate.

The no change fee is a gimmick they are saying. Leaving on Sunday and today had the same exact prices when I booked and today. I bought my ticket roundtrip with the airfare listed. Why should I get penalized now?

If the flight was the same price then you're right. That's BS

As a country we are going to need targeted relief of certain sectors of the economy. Airlines and hotels are going to get destroyed by this. Sadly that is only one aspects and the ripple effect will be felt everywhere as the market continues to nose dive. There are just no good solutions right now and its going to get much worse from both a public health and economic perspective

I had a surprisingly good experience with United today. I put in for a call back, it came in an hour, I had no change fee and my new flight was a few bucks less. Additionally, we checked out of our FL resort 2 days early, didn’t ask for a refund on those days, and the manager gave us one anyway.

It's a really sad state of affairs when people have to beg for refunds because of a global pandemic. The lack of compassion for others is alarming.

I feel bad for the people who were going to SXSW because they aren't getting squat despite the shutdown. Fine print, my a$$. They should do what's right.
