I like it..lets move on from mom and pop operations

I don't like it . Most of these yellow jackets were fans or students . It was nice seeing the same guy in my section the last 15 years .

Think a little...where does one think the pool of potential people will come from. Probably dome people will be the retirees or others who worked the regular games etc. Mo different than some if the people working at food services in the Audi Club. There are familiar faces seen.all of the time. Hopefully some of the same folks will be interested and hired.

So its the same people.. just jerk them around a little by making them work for a private company rather than Rutgers. That's efficient.

You do not think a private company whose sole responsibility is event security at large arenas and stadium can do the job more efficiently than the people that are presently in charge? The ushers in each section do a great job. The security at the gates are a joke and have been for years. Poorly trained and incompetent. Causing more problems and hassle than deterring problems.

I am in the same section Lou. I shook Amil's hand before every home game for many years. Great guy. I will miss that tradition.

Since it didn't help us WIN too many times,you can now start fresh with a new guy/gal.(I'm in to superstition too)

If they made the switch to bring in a company with security experience, in order to provide better training and more effective security, that could be an improvement.

But if they made the move as a cost cutting measure, with the expectation that the private company could do the job cheaper, then we probably won't see an improvement.

Food service is an example of the latter. Although Sodexo is an experienced food service company, the purpose of bringing them in was to save money. So Sodexo was not an improvement over Rutgers Dining Services. Rutgers Athletics may have saved money, but they received none of the benefits of using a food vendor with more experience than the in-house vendor. Concession stand workers did not receive better training, food quality did not improve, lines were not shorter. Instead Rutgers received cost cutting measures, such as changing fry oil so infrequently that the smell of rancid oil permeated one side of the RAC.

I would not be surprised that Homeland security is mandating a more professionally trained security staff in response to the recent overseas attacks.

The concessions stink because volunteers are running it during games.

If they get Securitas I'm giving up my season tickets (joking..kinda) .. Seriously you think that the cops on ATVs in the blue lot are bad... If you ever dealt with Securitas (Yankee Stadium, Universal studios) you know what I mean.

I've made my feelings known about Securitas to someone in the Athletic Department.

I will not let my true feelings known in a public forum, but overall negative is an understatement.

I'm going to miss Pasquale from Sections 129-130. He was so good and he'd stop by our tailgates a few times every season too when it was a night game (He told us they had to be in the stadium usually 4-5 hours before kick-off, hence he couldn't stop by for any noon kickoffs).

Changes like these are often made for politically-correct reasons. Could be a minority-owned business or a business owned by a politician (or friend of a politician or large donor) who might be able to return the favor when university budgets and funding (or donations) are at stake.

I think that is a bunch of hooey. INCREASED security is an additional expense over and above the yellow jackets. They don't need to let go the yellow jackets to increase security because of terrorism. The have cops outside checking bags and stuff now.. yellow jackets have nothing to do with that.

This is JERSEY. My bet is on the contract is lucrative to someone in power.. the Jersey Way.

Some games the last couple of years were just awful due to badly behaved opposing fans, piss-drunk, aggressive, and holding fake tickets. It's sad to see a familiar face go but there is some "rowdiness" that needs to be taken care of

Now that is a fair critique. We'll have to see if the new crew does any better before assessing if that was the real reason behind the Yellow Purge.
