You said, "I’ve had my fill. His lack of recognition and acknowledgment that he’s no longer doing the job he was hired to do is disgusting, honestly."

I completely agree and he's been telling everyone that would listen this very fact for some time as the Programs circles that drain, you mention. This is exactly why a legal case could be made to fire him "for cause" and then use his own very public "self-adoration" declarations of his "mission" being greater than simply doing the job he was HIRED to do. It seems the vision he sees for himself is to be the last man standing on the heap of rubble, that was once UK basketball, and proclaim that generational poverty, because of him, has been vanquished.
World needs more social workers, I guess.

The thing that guys like Cal never quite grasp is that they get their platform to do other things because they are first good at their job.

Or maybe, deep down, he knows he isn’t the best at his job. At least not anymore. Easier to fool himself into believing that his job is something else, than to admit his failures or work hard enough to try to overcome them.

There's a lot of truth in what you say, IMO. Elite talent in these latter years have served to hide the flaws we are now seeing as the talent has dried up. As this has happened, he has begun to lash out at the fans and detractors. I've been saying that however this all ends, it will not end well. Cal is a narcissist and, as such, does not play well with others unless he's having his *** kissed. I say all of this and wish none of it were true. I just don't see it as being anything else. I hope I'm wrong but as of now, I don't.

There was an old Zig Ziglar bit where he talked about Bear Bryant. The gist was, if the team played poorly, he took the blame. Mediocre results were a group effort. But a big win was all on the players.

The worst thing about Cal is his utter lack of humility while circling the drain. He remains arrogant and spiteful. Ducking out on press duties. Throwing players under the bus.

Even his schtick about “blame me, not the players” is disingenuous. That isn’t about Cal at all, but about the fans.

He isn’t taking the blame. He’s telling fans that we’re the bad guys, but we should pick on him instead of the team. He’s never saying the fans are right, and he should do better.

I’ve had my fill. His lack of recognition and acknowledgment that he’s no longer doing the job he was hired to do is disgusting, honestly.

His insistence that it’s everyone else who’s got it wrong after years of underperformance is his fatal flaw. I think it’s that, even more than the losses, that will finally kill his Kentucky coaching career.

He’s becoming a guy that you don’t even want to root for. Kind of puts you in a hard spot when he coaches your favorite team.

It’s not hyperbole to say this is the best post I’ve read on here in several seasons. Sums it up perfectly.

As a fan of a program that’s used to dominating, obviously the losses are hard to swallow. But they pale in comparison to Cal’s utter lack of accountability, which is downright insulting.

That’s one of his worst offenses here.

But i think the root of a lot of our issues under Cal in the end is that he’s a bottom line guy and preaches it to our players too. Money makes the world go round. And i mean he’s not wrong about that but it is not a good idea or philosophy to run a college basketball program around and that’s what he’s done.

The one and done thing, him constantly floating rumors about other jobs to milk UK for more money…now that NIL has happened, it shouldn’t be a surprise that some of our players take the floor like they’ve already made it and have nothing left to prove(i never thought guys have looked less motivated or play with less energy under Cal than now).

Kentucky players have it made at UK now more than ever and it seems like it’s showing.

KSR wrote an article 2 years ago saying he needs to stop lying to everyone

when KSR does that , even as On3 or whatever they are now,

the ship has sailed

His contract is so one sided - it says nothing about his performance as coach - 3 pages about not getting us in trouble with the NCAA but not single point about meeting specific milestones as the coach. I doubt there is a legal leg UK could stand on.

That contract was written out of fear

Yeah him saying blame him not the players is a passive aggressive shot at the fans implying that we are blaming the players. We’re NOT! WE ARE BLAMING YOU CAL!

In all honesty, I've read a ton of posts in recent weeks trashing various players. If that isn't blaming the players, what is? According to many on here, Oscar is gold bricking...Wheeler is trash...half the roster are from small schools, etc, etc.

Bill Curry used to do the same thing.

He would go on his week night call in show and criticize the fans for booing players.

I remember one time after he did this, Larry Vaught wrote an article quoting fans saying they were booing Curry.
I thought they were booing Uzelac

Bet the OP is trembling...

I would LOVE a run. But if the run happens in the NIT, you can eat your own crow.

This team isn't likely to go on a run before the SEC tournament or during the SEC tournament. And winning the SEC automatic bid looks like their only chance to dance in 2023.

Uh...the worst thing about Cal is he is under contract for 9 million dollars a year to destroy our once-proud basketball program.
Yeah, he should have turned down all those millions like you would have. And he should have started someone else besides his two best shooters, after all what as their shooting percentage?
