He played hard and did his part to help his teammates, that's for sure.
I also like the highlight where he hands off to the fullback, then ends up sprinting downfield to block a DB for the fullback. It didn't accomplish much, but he tried.
He was a tough s.o.b. That is how football should be played. He wasn't scared of getting hurt. His teammates blocked for him and he returned the favor whenever he could.

Pre-knee injury Newcombe was very fast. He was lethal as a return man in 1997 as well. Very electric player. After his injury, it took a very long time for him to recover, and I never felt like he was quite the same player.
