do you handicap mma?

great card today from what I hear
Only ponies, but we're friends with TJ, Gaethje, Cejudo, Isiah Faber.

A great card today, but there's a nice prop bet O'Malley, TJ, and Olivares for a hundo gets 2K +. But, I only play ponies. I could see winning 1 of 3, 2 of 3, maybe all 3, but I think all 3 can lose today.

I get my entertainment value by having free PPV streaming. LOL

About to be 45-21 Duke, blowing out the Hurricanes. Mike Elko should be national coach of the year the way he's turned this program around in less than a year.

Miami committed 8 turnovers. This reminds me of the time NU committed 9 (?) turnovers against Iowa State. Bad games happen.

Worse. No excuse to fail so hard at a place like Miami with all that talent. They are a “glamour” program and have been irrelevant for about as long as NU has.

Only 1 of 3 won which bears out my reasoning for not tossing any dough toward that bet. The first leg was a winner, but the 2nd leg fighter dislocated his left shoulder a minute into his fight with the world champion and wound up getting tko'd in Round 2 after they reset his shoulder between rounds. In the big fight, the favorite also won.

I have a lot of respect for those pros who set those wagers in Vegas. They also have "inside" info the general public typically lacks. For example, the 2nd fighter who dislocated his shoulder a minute into the fight revealed after the fight that the same shoulder had been dislocated 20 times in training camp.

For some "odd" reason, those that set the prop bet failed to mention that. If the guy WAS healthy, he had a shot considering he was also a former world champion who can really bang. If the betting public reasonably felt the guy was healthy and had NO knowledge of training injuries, it was enough to seduce that dough outta them for a potentially nice payoff. Right?

Since @king kong is a bettor would you have made that wager knowing the chances are that his shoulder was damaged and his opponent was the champion? The fact my son is friends with TJ may have played a part in my decision to pass.

Even though I won't wager on football, there may be 1 or 2 or a handful of players on a team, or each team, with minor injuries, banged up, etc., but overall you can handicap the contest and make a much more informed decision. Though, never being able to account for a bunch of turnovers, key players getting hurt, etc.

I think I'd probably suck at wagering on football. Unless you're parlaying, I just don't see the payoffs meriting the cash outlay. Different wagering strengths and weaknesses are what make the world go 'round.

Kudos to those who do enjoy betting on football though.

if I was miami I would:
1. get that 40k stadium built on campus, looks alot better then playing a hour away in the huge dolphin stadium with 200 fans
2. hire urban...miami is known as the real sin city, yachts/palm trees/chicks/yayo, #1 recruiting area, expecially in skilled positions.
3. recruit sec territory for lines
4. see if you can get back to 80's miami academic standards
5. join the big with nc, the second the sec takes fsu, clemson and vt...

Miami has definitely done less with more than NU has. It’s ironic our state craves football with small population and little talent near, Miami has the resources, talent pool and location, must not crave football. College fb would be a lot better if we were meeting in meaningful games though.

I think some of it has to do with just how bad things are in parts of Miami, too

moms want their kids out of town as fast as possible

I would take their record and 9 consecutive bowl games over Nebs any day of the week.

Miami upgraded academically in the past ten and just cant get the local guys into their school. They go SEC. Guys like Jerry Jeudy are from south FL and would have gone to the U in the past. Also , the home field is Hard rock which is twenty miles from campus and is not really a home field like the OB was.

There is no place on or near the campus to build a stadium.
Most of their alumni leave town after graduation.
Few hotels near the campus.
King Kong is absolutely right about Mothers wanting their sons out of town.

However, Miami and ALL of the South Florida is a gold mine for recruiting.
I think Florida is the state with the most 5 stars this year.

Kudos to anyone who wants to watch an afternoon football game in Miami in September or October. HOT!
