Anyone know why we were not given a timeout on the last inbound (2OT)? Torturing myself and re-watching the end of the game. Noticed that Paul and Pikiell were both trying to call timeout on the inbounds. Did the refs just not see them?

Not sure the inbounder gave them the option by throwing it in so quickly. Would also have been nice for the refs to check the video to adjust clock which could have given us time to set one last play.

Just rewatched the video (see below). Caleb simply was on autopilot and never even paused on the final throw in. What made it worse was having our bench at the opposite end of the court.

Actually the timeout that was more crucial (if we had one and I think we did) we should have called timeout after paul made his 3 at the end of firstOT. would have allowed RU to set up the D. And also sub in mag or killer Oh well hindsight is 20/20

It’s obvious on the replay that Paul was trying to call TO right in front of the ref but the ref didn’t see it because Caleb inbounded so quickly.

Only given that opportunity if you are RU opponent

Can a time out only be called when the player has the ball and not right after the made shot?

Was in Dayton - so missed this thread.....
had to dig to find it....

I know you can't "relitigate"...... so, I'm not sure the point.... but, never-the-less...

I see EVERYTHING reviewed and whistled and checked twice in the final 0:59.0secs of a game......... can someone explain to me HTF this is NOT a timeout?? HTF it doesn't get reviewed?

I've seen Purdue get TOs with 0.6sec on the clock... I've seen Michigan get 0.5 added to the time... I've seen us screwed a dozen times with less than :01sec on the clock..........

how is this not a CLEAR timeout????

someone? Anyone? what is going on here...... how is this not a HUGE issue?????

Would like the mods to get an answer for this. Curious minds want to know.

I know this is a huge/busy weekend for hoops fans... so, not sure people have even read this.

but, @Craig Epstein @ChrisNalwasky I'll bump this one last time....... if anyone has heard an answer or even knows if it matters... I'd love to know...

Just saw this thread. From where I was sitting I noticed Paul was trying to call a TO but wasn’t rewarded. I’m guessing with everything going on and how fast Rutgers inbounded the ball the refs didn’t see/hear them. We never got a definitive answer but that would be my best guess.

Shouldn't that be reviewable as a correctable error related to timing?
To my knowledge you can’t review whether or not somebody tried to call a TO (or at least I’ve never seen it). Just a case of bad luck for Rutgers.
