Well guys...it's been real, it's been fun, it's even been real fun. But we're closing up shop. If you want to read a really sentimental post from me...here you go: https://daviddeasley.wordpress.com/2017/06/29/the-tailgate-company/

If you'd like to purchase some really nice used tailgate gear, it is for sale.

Right now we're only selling tents, chairs, and TVs.

10x10 Tents: $250 ea ( $500 new)

Chairs: $20 ea ($70 new)

60" TVs: $400

42" TVs: $200

32" TVs: $100

If you'd like to buy some of this gear off of us, email me at [email protected]

I will also be selling three trailers. A 30ft gooseneck, a 20 ft bumper pull, and a 14 ft bumper pull. All are enclosed and in good to excellent shape.

As always, all proceeds go to the "Feed the Children of Mississippi Fund." This fund directly benefits the three beautiful kids who live under my roof...and only those children.

I hate to see you guys go. Of course the University needs every penny of any money made on campus. There is a serious rant in my gut screaming to get out. I'll push it down/bury it. That seems to help. Thanks I enjoyed your set -up.

I've got no problem with the university charging a concessions fee to vendors on campus. Happens all the time and it's just a part of doing business on someone else's facilities. I do have a problem with going to a sole source vendor though. There's no good reason to lock competitors out other than someone got a kickback.

Just to clarify, they have been charging a fee since 2013.

I've got no problem with the university charging a concessions fee to vendors on campus. Happens all the time and it's just a part of doing business on someone else's facilities. I do have a problem with going to a sole source vendor though. There's no good reason to lock competitors out other than someone got a kickback.

Not exactly a kickback. Give someone a monopoly, they can up prices, and then the university can charge a higher concession fee to capture some of the monopoly profits. Basically the same model Louisiana has for its casino licenses. But probably not a coincidence though that the setup that offers the most opportunities for graft is the setup chosen by Louisiana, and not the approach I'd prefer.

I feel much better about this after reading your blog post. Sometimes the clarity that is provided isn't the clarity we would have chosen.
