There are a couple of guys left who have consistently brought accurate information for many years who have very good football knowledge to this board . Tuco is one and like him or not CoachDubs is another. Some of the best posters we've had on here over the years have gotten driven off by wannabees arguing just to argue about things they really aren't qualified to argue about. Tuco has connections to SEC college coaches and other places. He knows football. And BTW, my join date isn't what it seems to be. Some of us assumed new identities and became more careful about disclosing personal information to dodge the Pelini internet police. It's pretty amazing when friends get phone calls from a guy like Jamrog trying to find you. It's one of the reasons for one of the board rules.

The gif I posted was directed at the OP not Tuco. Agree with most - his presence is missed

Apologies for not making that clear. Will edit

I've been observing the "Free Board" as some elitists would like to call it (not me), for numerous years (it's the Husker Board, FYI). Well beyond the current, previous and previous to the previous coaching staff hires, to put it in perspective.

The one thing I can no longer tolerate is the discontent. We have hired the premier young Head Coach in all of college football, and it's like some of you are looking for any rotten spoiled banana on the ground to pick up and cry about. "The D coordinator is suspect"; "Coaching the bowl game hurts our recruiting"; "JUCOs can't be a mainstay going forward".

No offense (aka Pelini, Riley, and Callahan when it counted), but enough is enough. If this isn't the right "fit" for you, then your "fit" will never arrive. As a Board, as the "free" Husker Board, this environment can and needs to change.

Some of the ones you speak of are in denial.

You decided to start posting again to talk down to people and tell them what they need to do? This should go well.

Shoot, the board was mostly positive about all the coaches that have come along at first. Frost has been even more warmly received since he's a Husker product coming in with an undefeated season. There have been a few doubts - more worries or questions than criticisms. Anyway, message boards are message boards, people say what pops into their heads.

No this is the place for speculation and guessing.

Who is QB next year?

Much much more than most people think
Then Successfully running and managing on organization is much more difficult than most who have never done it feels it is

I don't believe the two were connected in the original statement, but yes running and managing an organization can be difficult. But it also greatly depends on the type of organization.

My point is when talking in general terms about football or Nebraska football- almost anyone with a basic knowledge of the game can chime in and have a reasonable opinion. Managing the clock poorly, not enough kids on the field missed open field tackles etc

However what actually happens in a real game all the variances in formations, blocking schemes, defensive coverages, route options, personnel matchups, game planning, counter moves and technique is way over the heads of many.

That's why guys like Frost and Osborne who could see the field and make all those calculations in real time- processing information quickly, then applying their knowledge effectively in very tight time windows makes them so valuable as coaches. Most casual fans and even players don't understand all the moving parts- let alone working it in real time. It would shock them to know how complicated it really is at the DI level.

On another level- most of us dont attend practice or understand all of whats happening off the field. We have to have faith that those with that information are using it for the best long term benefit of the program.

One of the problems is- many of the announcers know so little about the game- up the middle, end around, deep pass, cliche, cliche, cliche. They do little to educate the casual fan- all about personal interest stories and shots of stupid cheerleaders shaking their pom poms. Well prepared guys who know the game and can explain it like Brock Huard are few and far between-

I too rarely ever post and certainly don't provide valuable information. However, I decided to post on this thread because it is awesome. The OP complaint is valid, but only if you refuse to use the ignore button. If you can force yourself to ignore those who annoy you, the board becomes less, well... "Swelling".

I say this post is awesome mainly because of the follow-on posts that were funny as heck.

It's really not.
