If the offense can more consistently play like they did in the 2nd quarter, this team can go places.

Purdue is last in conference in lass defense and and bottom half in rush defense. Glad to see the the 21 on the board but let’s keep perspective, even with the younger guys coming in. Need time. Survive and advance mindset.

An with that being said, this team is doing exactly what is expected of them.

Who cares. Playing winning football builds confidence to take on tougher battles

We have to learn how to win these caliber of games consistently. We are getting better and better but we certainly aren’t a giant yet. Offense needs huge improvement. That’s an ELITE defense though

Defense is far from elite, but they are extremely sound. When White gets a couple of difference makers on his unit look out.

A heck of a foundation is getting put in place to build upon though. Also take into consideration all the adjustments the coaching staff and players have had to go through while dealing with the numerous injuries on the offensive side of the ball.

And now we look like an average high school team. I guess it's too much to ask to have a QB that can hang onto the ball. Good grief.

Difference makers can be coached up as well as recruited (almost preferable that way, since the portal both giveth and taketh). I think its been too long since we've seen that, and it seems to be happening before our eyes. Bodes well though.

Exactly. Look, you need to start beating the crap teams with ease, that gets you to 9ish wins. Then you worry about the other 3 games

We are barely getting by some really bad teams. A step forward for sure, but the giant is still mostly asleep
Ok- but winning five of the last six is much better that the past five plus years.
At least we are beating the teams we should beat.
No one is calling this team elite, but they are learning to win again and that's something we really haven't seen in awhile

They are doing what I wanted for year 1. Winning games no matter how ugly.

Heck yeah!

Would love to have Minny back!

But, it looks like each game is going to be a coin flip the rest of the season.
Think about winning this week and getting bowl eligible. Would have to be a tremendous weight lifted for the older players. Would also make recruiting much easier with obvious progress.

I agree they are not elite yet. Although, probably not as far off as you think. They have to fiercely fight to overcome Haarberg and his band of Horribles continually dropping the ball.

Recruiting to the D should be easy, players are playing fast and having fun. The biggest miss under Pelini was not capitalizing on Suh and getting some stud d-linemen.

I am on board with the D and the overall aggressive approach but let's see what they do against a good offense like Maryland or against Wisconsin. Also, Purdue had several drops yesterday that definitely helped us out including the long one that the guy just flat out let go thru his hands.

Well referring to sleeping giant, it took the US military more than 2 years to consistently kick the snot out of the opposition after pearl harbor
