My question is whether the kids in school even know who this washed up reality star is.

Honestly, SHI stadium needs more atmosphere. If you wanna attract regular attendees, you're not going to do it by losing winnable games.

Say what you want about Jersey and it's struggling identity crisis. But having a boardwalk and fan engagement is the only way people are going to fund the program. Penn State has a football culture, Texas also has a football culture.

Places that don't have culture are the ones that don't get donors and fans. And without donors and fans, you don't get a competitive team.

Rutgers finds ways to blow it at every turn.

We could have fostered a relationship with Springsteen. His guitar player, Steve Van Zandt, is a football nut.
Bon Jovi is another one. He loves publicity of any kind. Bruce turned down having a rest stop named after him, but Bon Jovi willingly accepted. The fans go wild when Bruce and Bon Jovi songs are played.

Doubt Rutgers ever reached out. Their loss.

Then this is Kelly's chance to prove herself and turn things around for the program.

Honestly, it sounds to me that this just shows how bad Patt Hobbs was at his job. His duty as AD was to secure funding, but instead was too busy having an affair with his subordinate.

Maybe RU could reach out to Dylan Walsh from Blue Bloods who lives in Rumson. . . .ha, ha.

That would have to have been in the late 70s or 80s. Probably not even though about those days

It took me years to grow sum to finally make account to talk about Rutgers. I Been reading reading these message boards since I was like 15 im 27 now. It’s way too many important people from nj. Rutgers needs to suit the younger demographic or find important people that people give a damn about. I don’t know how the money thing works but it just feels like cheap way to bring him in. if you wanna be big time you get big time people to come in and represent you

Need to make games an EVENT!!! The experience last night was very cool once people got into their seats. Who cares about the situation…that didn’t make or break the game!
the boardwalk is unique to us and the comments about it are outstanding especially from people who haven’t been a part of Gameday before. We also have an amazing tailgating scene compared to many schools.

we NEED to fix our issues with lines/screening to get into the game. That flow is AWFUL and causes too many issues for people to want to get into the game for any experience. Their knight app was awful last night and not enough people in seats. That is numerous uno right now. We also need to get people in seats before kickoff but a lot of that deals with the lines but more importantly winning.

now based on winning, you don’t get bigger celebrities unless we win.

Yes. I have to agree it was a very good night results otherwise. Shame Rutgers events. Band., Entertainment has improved far faster than te a m..but i digress.

Even getting out of Red/Green was surprisingly great as they figured out how to double exit into River and push the merge up towards 287.

For the record he basically handed them to the first row. Btw this is the school who had Snookie as a speaker
For the record, Rutgers University Programming Association, a student-run organization, invited Snooki and paid her fee. Just as they might select a comedian, musician or some other entertainer.

i dont think it would make any difference.. Entering Stadium has gotten worse since Boardwalk started because people are gravitating to that side of stadium to enter and hang in beer garden longer......they need 2X the amount of scanners that currently exists..

Im with you on this!! Its personally a disgrace watching the scanners have to scan tickets especially when people arent ready, the cell service isnt working, or the scanners just arent working properly.

Move back to paper tickets and keep everyone moving fast! Its legit the main issue why people cant get in their seats on time...that and people enjoy the tailgating more so than the on field display

And so? That makes our school look smsrt and intelligent? Great . We have morons representing us and using student fees.. but as long as they are in control all is good. Check. Love the technicality sideline view of sewer wash.

Rutgers has forced fans thru that shoot. Thats why the RAC buses stop up by the Blue lot instead of dropping off behind the bubble and keep cars from going in and out of the blue lot while fans walk past thd entrance and exit.

Snookie was not representing the school. She was hired entertainment. When I was in school we went to see the comedian Gallagher at the Rutgers Student Center. Was he representing the school?

why are you making fun of someone who had a stroke event
"He was charged with having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, expired registration, reckless driving, failure to keep right, unsafe lane change/failure to maintain lane and driving on a sidewalk. A follow-up investigation on Aug. 18 revealed that the crash caused an estimated $5,000 in damage to the electrical system of a nearby residence."

You are a hook, line and sinker kind of guy aren't you?

they usually charge when you are in an accident...that doesnt mean the charges stick..also is bac was below .10 and its likely that his passagengers were the ones drinking plus likely empties from earlier in the day..like no one else has ever had those in your car. pretty sad for you to be making fun of others misfortunes

Football is entertainment, so I have no issue with bringing in an entertainer to throw some t-shirts to fans, especially when Jersey Shore popularized the whole t-shirt time thing. Snooki being a commencement speaker was an abomination, on the other hand.

I pay the extra $25 for paper tickets (4 tickets X 7 games). Smooth entry every time.

His era of fame is up but Mike fixed his life and did a lot better and is a father and a husband. Was he stupid? A meathead? Of course. But he was playing up a character and a NJ stereotype.
He did break the law on his taxes but he did his time and paid his debt. We all walk amongst worse criminals in NJ than him.
