Rich booster gives gift of 5 million to the owner of a dealership in Lexington if Kentucky wins the title. Dealership gets the free advertisements, team autographs, and uniform gear to give car buyers - the players split the 5 million.
It’s legal, by the rule, and would be a killer incentive for recruits and championships.
I’m just brain storming.
In all seriousness, the first time I read it I was wondering what Rich Booster ownedRich booster gives gift of 5 million to the owner of a dealership in Lexington if Kentucky wins the title. Still if we could gather 2 million day and get each player around 200k that’s pretty nice for one year of college and one deal.when you start getting into many top rated recruits it’s gonna be difficult. I don’t think boosters are gonna pony up every year. There’s also massive tax implications to move that kind of money around. 5 million is really 3 million once it’s gifted and taxed the first time. Once it’s paid out to the players it’s probably 2 million.
a shirt with the super six or other name isn’t gonna net much money and it would exclude half the team which wouldn’t sit well. The best way to handle the elites is to allow them to market on their own not team up. It’s better too that Barney has no clue how much these guys get or he ll want them to divide it with girls badminton.
the way I see it is like this. There are banks, car dealerships, restaurants, retail and other businesses that would drop 200-300K on hiring a future nba star. Let them sort it out. Not only does the basketball team have to be fed but fb too and some of the other sports. NIL is a giant cluster F tbh. There just isn’t enough pie for major universities to go around.
But the spirit of the rule is individualism and the ability to find creative ways to bank based on who you are. Those top 10 guys may not care. They know UK basketball alone is probably worth 5-10 draft spots. They may be happy to make their 50 grand conservatively and still go to UK just based off what the name has done for guys like booker, herro, and many many more who were probably drafted much higher and went to the nba sooner than they would have from the home school.
boosters though donating to for profit organizations isn’t gonna happen. Now if a booster owns a business that’s a different deal altogether.

I thought of that one too.The sixshooters
Lively is not coming to Kentucky. He’s going to Duke.I like it, @bucsrule8872 . If Fab 5 can gain traction, so can Sensational Six.
I might go with "Super Six" to shorten it a bit. If Lively, Sharpe, and Livingston went something like 1, 3, and 6 in the draft, it would only cement these guys into lore if they played together. The Fab Five became legendary partly because they were great in college, but also because three of them were NBA All-Stars later.
