Excuses are like ********.
I'm not sure about others but I take his comments as being sincere compliments.
Uh, the fact that he grouped NU and Purdue together isn't a compliment.....Ya not sure what people are reading into this. He is saying flat out that we are tough to beat.

I was at an Iowa NU game in Iowa City circa 2011-13. It was after Shon Greene and Stanzi injuries. We lost.Hawkeyes are 6-7 vs the Cats in Iowa City over the last 25 years. 10-14 overall.
Memo to George. It doesn’t matter where we play. Northwestern has owned just Io-a for a quarter century because they have been the better football program for that long.
BTW ... has Shon Greene found his way to the locker room yet?

He said both of us were tough to beat. Sensitive.
Speaking to playing in Evanston or West Lafayette. After the BS excuse about the weather and small crowd - and always having more Iowa fans at the game (never true in Evanston), "You should come out and end it. But somehow they always make a game of it."
6-7 at home. 4-7 on the road.
Own it George.

Our home field advantage is that we have good teams. By the way, that's our road advantage too.
