I was about to post the same thing. If you use RSCI, you will see there’s a ton of top 15 players that have stayed at UNC for multiple years.
Hansbrough, Green, Lawson, Ellington, Ed Davis, Henson, Barnes, Bullock, McAdoo, PJ Hairston, Hicks, Jackson, Pinson, all of who were recruited by Roy. Majority of them stayed 3 or 4 years, more than any other colleges and by a long shot.
Duke has had their fair share, too.
It's just ironic how 10 years ago so many fanbases used this same argument against us, and now we have some who have reverted to doing the same thing.

Not at the level UNC has, I’ve compared the two and duke hasn’t had as many stay 3 or 4 years, like UNC has.
Does not matter because they won but what I have been trying to say and I think peterjurkin is that Roy is winning because they have been keeping top level talent on campus much longer than is the norm.I have consistently said that next year is when UNC will start playing the price for their misses in recruiting.This is even more so true with today’s announcement of Felton leaving school

No i get it. Also of those guys you listed only Barnes and McAdoo should have ever left earlier than they did. The rest were never going to be OAD. That includes Ed Davis. If UNC didn’t win it last year this wouldn’t even be a discussion .
Someone will have to step up for them at PG that is for sure, having said that they do have a solid class coming in. But Roy’s system demands a really good PG.
Roy is winning more because he's a really good coach. Just because a kid is 'ranked' in the top 15 doesn't mean a whole lot. See Derryck Thornton, Chase Jeter, Marques Bolden and others. Kids run their own races. Those three guys were recruited to Duke in the span of two years....and none of them are close to the NBA.
K only won it all in 2010 because the field was watered down and he got all kinds of solid talent to stay late and Heyward missed by inches.
K only won it all in 2015 because he had a blend of elite freshman and upperclassmen.
Now he chokes with OADs
Until he wins it all with OADs. Then it will be because he got the best OADs ever and a lucky draw.

Roy has tainted titles from '05 and '09 because of phony classes athletes were intentionally clustered. AFAM in '05 and primarily communications in '09 (although we all remember the infamous naval science course too).

Guys like Tyus Jones, Luke Kennard, Frank Jackson, and Justice Winslow to name some who chose to leave early. Even transfer Rodney Hood was expected to be here two years.
Not buying the Ol Roy wins with sisters of the poor talent. Jackson, Meeks, Hicks, Berry, Bradley, Page, and Pinson all were McDonalds All-Americans. Get that type talent to stick around 3-4 years and most programs would do very well.

Whatever.. It sure felt good to note above examples, and I imagine some fellow Duke fans appreciate it....I have heard "the watered down field" enough from 2010....That was one of K's best coaching jobs ever and included that epic 82-50.
