Well, Bammer fans' common law cousin wives, pets, and trailer insurance companies have had a day to lick their wounds from actually being in a close game. Now the ******** are literally whining. Quotes from JOX radio this morning:

•"Our defense sucks"
•"Mullen was cheatin, cuz his players faked injury to mess up Matt Jones' rhythm"
•"Can we for once, just once, have a complete team going into the playoffs?"
•"Game wouldn't have been so close if Waddle hadn't got hurt"
•"Ahm pulling fur Noter Dame cuz Clemson gunna throw fur a thousand yards gains us"
•"Once in a while can we find another place to play the championship, it's getting boring going to Atlanta multiple times a year"
•"Why can't we have a backup RB like Travis Etienne"

For any of you who root for the tide, this is the genetically deformed knuckledraggers you are locking arms with.

It's a tough life for Alabama football fans, eh? ***

I suppose when your team goes to the 4-team playoff almost every year, there's no excitement and you start bitching about not winning the National Championship every year.

The college football playoffs have been around for 7 seasons now. Alabama has been in the playoffs 6 of 7 seasons. (Last year, with LSU winning every game, was the first season that Alabama did not participate in the playoffs.)

Similarly, Clemson has been in 6 of 7 playoffs. (Clemson missed the first year of the playoffs, when Florida St. went.)

For the 6 playoffs that have been played to completion already, either Alabama or Clemson has won the National Championship 4 times, with 2 wins each. (LSU won last season. Ohio St. won the first season.)

In 3 of the 6 previously played championship games, Alabama and Clemson played each other. Likely, they will face each other again in this season's championship game.

7 seasons X 4 teams/season = 28 possible spots for teams in the college football playoffs.

In 7 seasons, only 11 teams have made the college football playoffs: Alabama (6), Clemson (6), Oklahoma (4), Ohio State (4), Notre Dame (2), Oregon (1), Florida St. (1), Michigan St. (1), Washington (1), Georgia (1), and LSU (1).

My advice: get used to seeing at least 3 of the following 4 teams in the college football playoffs every season for the foreseeable future: Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Ohio St.

Based upon previous seasons, only 3 of those 4 will make the playoff each season. The fourth team will most-often be some random shmuck that has zero chance to actually win (e.g., Notre Dame, any PAC-12 team, any Big 12 team besides Oklahoma).

Of course, there might be an exception . . . like LSU last season.
