The real Nebraska-Minnesota prediction thread.

I know antirowboat started a thread already. But few on here like him and he broke protocol by doing it early. Now it is Thursday so here we go:

I think it is a close game for a while but Nebraska pulls away and has a convincing win. Martinez has another big game and Rahmir will run well. Hopefully we will see Yant as well, but with better results.

I agree, Pennsy, we wil by 3 TDs at least. But I don’t think minnesota scores more than 10.

31-10, Nebraska.

Man some of you have been hitting the red kool-aid pretty hard haven't you?? 24-21...us. But I don't feel real good about it.
This is not a great Min team at all. If we execute we should coast to a win. As you are well aware that has happened 1 time this year. I don't think MN is a whole lot better than NW. in 3 weeks we will find out.

Same as I posted on the other thread. IDC who started it or how, but don't feel like repeating myself...

Sure he's flaky, but anyone you dislike this much should be put on ignore. And [adults] shouldn't turn social media into a high school popularity contest.

You don't tug on Superman's cape. You don't spit into the wind. You don't pull the mask of the ol' Lone Ranger, and you don't...start a prediction thread if you aren't Pennsy AND if its not Thursday!

28-13 Nebraska. Minnesota will try to play ball control so I doubt we get more than 40 offensive snaps. Could be another painfully close loss if we’re not efficient on offense.

Hmmm... I don't dislike him. I don't even know him. Or her. Or they. And I never put people on ignore. Instead... well... I just kind of ignore them. Give me a break. Lots of folks on here have given the guy a verbal razzie. A lot more than my little jab above. I was just stating the obvious. Namely, that lots of posters on here do not like his posts.

27-21 Huskers. This is a game we should win. Outside of the northwestern game we generally play down to the level of out opponents, so I’m not calling for a blowout. This game and Purdue are must win. Lose either one and the newfound hope goes right down the toilet. I’d even be willing to call the next two games the biggest of Frost’s tenure here.

Up to -4.5 now.
That sounds about right, considering how much Fleck likes to control the clock. I think this game is going to be a little closer than most think. It all depends if Minnesota can consistently get first downs against our defense. That spread tells me 3 things:

- Vegas is betting on Minnesota doing their best to muck up this game and use the clock

- Scott’s overall record on the road

- Special Teams, though better, is still a question mark - especially on the road

IMHO, if we win this game, it will be a culture win for Frost.

Minnesota will go up 10-0. Nebraska will get the lead in the 4th but ultimately lose by a field goal in regulation.

Nebraska should win this game fairly comfortably, but will shoot themselves in the foot enough times to make this one go down to the wire. Huskers win a close one, 34-31

Special teams come back to scare us and benhart struggles. Closer than I want but buskers grind one out.

This one worries me for a few reasons.

Minnesota is great at controlling the clock. I think they will own us in time of possession and total plays. Our defense will play well and they’ll struggle to score on us, but after so many plays on the field I hope our defense can hold up.

Nebraska’s offense will be feast or famine. Minnesota gives up more than the average BIG play, but otherwise plays pretty well and it can be tough to sustain drives on them. Nebraska is reliant on the big play so I have a feeling that Nebraskas offense in every possession will either
A) score in a hurry
B) 3 and out or 1 first down and punt
C) Turnover

If we can’t sustain drives we will turn this into a game minny wants: ball control, time of possession, field position. Michigan did this to us to a degree and our defense just couldn't hold on.

Whether we win the game depends on if we get more of A or more of C. If Nebraska can consistently sustain drives I’ll be pleasantly surprised, even if they don’t all end in touchdowns. Avoid 3 and outs and turnovers and play sound special teams. The big plays will come.

But I dont think we can avoid turnovers or play good special teams. If Minnesota keeps the ball for 35 minutes we lose.

I’ll force myself to pick Nebraska 21-17. But I dont love it. I felt better about Michigan at home.

Winning by 3 touchdowns would be absolutely huge. This is the type of game Scott Frost finds a way to lose or keep unnecessarily close.

No Potts is gonna make a huge difference.
Our offense has to set the tone in this game and score early.

I don't have a feeling at all about this one. Till the Huskers turn the corner and win when the should against Big 10 teams I hesitate to predict a win .
