I believe that BBN is united in the belief that our basketball program has fallen on tough times. Many of us believe that Mitch has caused serious damage to the program vis-a-vis his incredible lapses in judgment, but it goes deeper than that. Mitch has benefitted from the unwavering support of UK's president, Eli, who has offered the opinion that Mitch is the best AD in the country. Let that sink in for a moment. Best in the country. Eli can't discuss Mitch without launching into a tidal wave of superlatives. Eli's hope is to replace Mitch with an AD who can continue Mitch's record of excellence. Scared yet? Eli is so impressed with Mitch that he is creating a retirement job for him that will cost the Commonwealth almost $1M a year. Eli prides himself on being a good administrator who delegates sports management to the AD, even when the basketball program is floundering under the leadership of his prized AD.

Does Mitch have exposure.? Yes, of course, but I place major blame on Eli for allowing our AD to run amuck. We need a new university president, one who doesn't ignore legitimate concerns raised by BBN. A president who demands accountability and doesn't reward poor judgment with a sweet heart retirement package.

I'm a realist. I don't expect meaningful change to occur anytime soon. I am angry and a bit frustrated, but mostly I'm sad. Maybe Pope's promise of playing better will materialize. It's a glimmer of hope, but it's all that we have until a blighter future reveals itself.

When you shower cash and compliments on someone who seems to fail miserably at his primary job function. There is usually a secondary function he is completing that people are not seeing. That function is almost always money. That’s called corruption.
Somehow Mitch is keeping everyone around him happy, while failing miserably at his primary function.

Is there a way to legally try and oust the Eli? Just asking?

Money is the root of all evil they say. But it just don't sound good for a big change at Kentucky with MB still having anything to do with it. You would think they would be feeling a little bit of pressure from all of this. But money is powerful.
