It was a real deflating play. But on the bright side, did that punt travel 70 yards in the air? Kicking anf punting game looks much improved.

I was thinking the same thing on that play. Guy had an awesome punt from the back of the endzone. Don't remember stuff like that last year.

Actually a bad thing in some cases, including this one. A literal example of outkicking the coverage.

Ash said the play was to kick the ball out of bounds (punter out - kicked the coverage, we saw how fast the returner can run, he did have open field to work with).

Actually a bad thing in some cases, including this one. A literal excuse...we still had not 1 but 2 potential the coverage.
that is always used as an excuse...2 players missed what could have made this kick a great play

Pat McAfee‏Verified account@PatMcAfeeShow 11h11 hours ago.Retired from the NFL to entertain folks with my friends
ESPN just tried to blame the Rutgers punter 4 that Washington punt return..dude was punting in a 10 yard box, hits a bomb, terrible coverage
.McAfee was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September 2014. He led the NFL in punting average (45.6 yards) and touchbacks on kickoff (24), and converted the NFL's only two successful onside kicks in the first four weeks of the season.[9] In week 6, McAfee converted his third onside kick of the season, recovering the ball himself after it traveled the necessary 10 yards.[10]On December 23, 2014, McAfee was selected to play in his first Pro Bowl,[11] and on January 2, 2015, he was selected by the Associated Press as the First Team All-Pro punter.[12] On December 20, 2016, McAfee was named to his second Pro Bowl.[1

Think this guy above. knows a little about kicking and kick coverage??

It's awful special teams. Was a nice punt. What's the definition of insanity? Next year we will have a new special teams coach... Should have had an experienced staff from day one.

It was a great punt, terrible coverage. Not only did Pettis bobble it, he ran straight up the middle. If someone made a tackle, it's an awesome punt.

If the plan really was out of bounds, he couldn't have picked worse placement. Distance and height were incredible...

Ash even stated at the half that the kicking game "killed us."
My patience with Okruch is nearly gone, we need to show improvement here in the next two weeks.
