In my spare time I do Yale radio. I was at the game yesterday. Yale is talented,as always. They were way up on UMass by 31 on Friday night. UMass is now up at the half on a very bad PSU team.I must say that Seton Hall is enormously talented, especially on the defensive end. Willard thinks it may be his most talented defensive team. FDU and Yale may not be the best sample size and we will know a lot more tomorrow night at Michigan. I expect Michigan to win,but narrowly. Obiago can at least decently defend Hunter in the post.Yetna and Cale are very capable offensive threats,among others. Rutgers needs to get much better offensively in the next 3 weeks.

Very true. Say what you want about Willard. He brings in talent and figures it out later (sometimes it doesn’t work out) . Can’t have too much talent and can’t always worry about hurt feelings
The average age of the SHU 9 player rotation is over 22.5 years old.....the top 7 players average age is 23 years old....it might be the oldest total rotation in the history of CBB.....RU has one player (Baker) in that age group....Harper Jr is still just 21.
And if Jacob hadn't transferred our average age would have been higher.
The question isn't the age of the player...it's whether the player can play!

Based on tonight’s Big10 v Big East performances, I wouldn’t bet on Michigan. Illinois lost at Marquette and Wisconsin lost at home to Providence.
Skills matter, Coaching matters and a team that has been together longer also matters. But whether you want to believe it or not, age brings more maturity, more experience, better decision making and it also certainly matters.
For example - compare the difference between a 19 year old JY and a 23 year old JY.
Jacob is a 6th year college player, but he's 1 of 8 or 9 kids in a rotation, it's one thing to have 1 or 2 kids.....not all 7 or 8-9....
Hawk, please tell me what is wrong with having older players on a Team's roster. Does it violate any NCAA rule? Or is it just sour grapes on your part? Didn't Wisconsin a few years back have a roster in which the average age of the players exceeded that of the Chicago Bulls?
On the Yale front, I used to play with (practice with) Nick Townsend, Matt Townsend's little (he's my height) brother. He will be a good one for the Bulldogs.
My guess is there are few teams in Utah that have something to say about this lol!
SHU is a really good team, could be going up against a top 15 team by the time we play them.

Can Seton now get the trophy that was stolen from them back in 89. And stupidly I was a Michigan fan back then so actually was celebrating that night while watching the game with a bunch of friends who were of course all rooting for the Hall.
Seton Hall outworked and wore down the Wolverines, who are very green and young in a lot of spots. Playing 4 frosh a lot of minutes and SHU took them off the dribble most of the night.
A sign of a good team is getting key and timely contributions off the bench when you have a couple of starters that aren't clicking.....my post above in reference to the age of the SHU rotation is just to point out for fans that are unaware.....there is no rule against having an older roster, it does show up early in a season when your opponent is playing frosh or sophomores in their true first tests against quality competition......Michigan will be better in February if their frosh get experience and games under their belts, but SHU was clearly the more determined and stronger team for 40 minutes and earned the road win.

Mich was 0 for 10 on 3s at one point, ended 3-15, most were open shots (not contested) that weren't dropping. Shu's big guys are excellent rim protectors with a lot of blocks and altered shots-Mich was missing in the lane late in the game looking a bit intimidated on their close attempts. Mich will probably be a better shooting team as the season goes on and of course will be on fire against us from outside. But shu's shot blocking/defense inside was impressive.
Hall will be 10pt favorites when we show up to Newark. They look like they lift weights too. To many of our players don't seem like they really wanna hit the weights
Talk to my dad after the game. Sit in the front row. Said that Cliff was getting pushed around (and out of the lane) by NJIT’s center all night long. That is NOT good.
Kudos to Seton Hall. I watched the game and the inexperience of the young Michigan studs showed late in the game. And Seton Hall's bench and experience was relentless. Even when they were down by 11 late in the game, I never felt they were out of it, because Aiken and Jackson hit some pretty big shots as did Rhoden when to not only get them back in the game but to take the lead.
They will definitely be favored against us. Even though it's way too early in the season to really give any seriousness to the rankings, based on what I saw tonight, Seton Hall should easily be in the top 25.

Seton Hall will be better as well, as their 3 transfers (none of who played when it counted) get their chemistry going with the returnees.
Many of them, but they were also the correct calls.
Even if they weren’t, though, if there is one team that it wouldn’t bother me one bit, it’s Michigan. We literally had a national championship stolen against them on a call the official essentially admitted he blew.
You can’t be serious when we’re considered one of the best teams at developing kids in the weight room in the country
I dunno man. Seton Hall looks way more physical than we do.
SHU appears to have good quality depth this year. Aiken was fantastic down the stretch.
