It shouldn't take a half court shot at the end of regulation to tie Santa Clara in the first round. Lucky to get this win.

Imagine being such a Debbie downer. I’m as down on this season and staff as anyone but my god man let it go enjoy the moment at least. We are still alive never know what will happen. Once we do lose, then come back and whine.
This team if nothing else gave us one of the all time great shots in Kentucky history. I’m happy for Otega. He’ll always have that.

I am no Pope fan, but I’m still happy as hell. The season was a disappointment but as Jimmy V said all that matters now is SURVIVE AND ADVANCE!
Oweh is a frustrating player. His selfish play put us in a position to lose but he came up huge twice in that last 10 seconds. Amazing shot to tie the game.

I agree with you. There's no part of me that could root for UK to lose sooner in the tournament in hopes it shortens the tenure of the coach. I can't fathom wanting to lose in March.
(Somewhat related but it is hilarious that Pope's contract gives him an extra year every time he makes the Sweet Sixteen. In my mind that should be the baseline. Maybe E8 and definitely FF are worthy of an extra year.)

One of the greatest shots in Kentucky Basketball history. We were very lucky no one from SC thought of stopping the ball. Just jump in front of him and cause a collision, block or charge, FTs and the game is over
I would say this team gave us several, at least 2 memorable shots ( 3 counting the steal and layup at the end at Knoxviolle eaqrlier this year ...) this year, but that's just me.

I'll never wish for a kentucky loss, even if it means we keep pope for 2 or 3 years longer than we should....thats just called being a fan.
Kind of like UNC, the lucky run to the title game with Hubert kind of ensured they were stuck with him for a while and he probably isnt the right dude but you dont trade that runner up title run in.

Any team that has ever had any success in March has had luck along the way. It’s what makes the single elimination tournament the greatest sports event in the US.
