Smothers arm strength is his issue
I think his feet can more than make up for that if he can go through his progressions and pick the right WR when we do throw. IMO, in college arm strength is probably an over rated commodity. In the NFL it's a must. Accuracy and decision making IMO are more important for a college QB than a cannon. Adrian actually has a strong arm but often made bad decisions.

I think I’ll watch the Masters now and record the 2nd uneventful 2nd half..

When you throw way behind a WR running a skinny flag, it is obviously the QB.
Not sure which play that was. So he messed up one play in a spring game after missing most of the spring due to an injury? He sucks... oops. You were referring to Smothers I take it?

We'd be better as an option team with him, but you can't half *** going to an option offense and expect it to work out well.

Sure you can. As long as you have it in the playbook and have a week to prepare for him to start, it can work. My impression is that virtually all of Frost's playbook is still in the mix.

Listening to the radio and all they do are interviews. Whole drives pass by while they interview someone.

So, I feel like Smothers is getting a lot of snaps that should be going to Purdy & Haarberg. I don't see a realistic future for Smothers here. This may not be popular, but he's in the way, and taking away from others development in my opinion.

CT is known to be a streaky QB where he will amaze for a series, then look average. He talks the talk, but not convinced he can walk it.

If I was OC, I'd be wanting to get Purdy at a minimum in the #2 role. I still like Haarberg a lot too. Logan should be 4th string.

I was expecting to see a lot more sophistication in the passing game. The offense is concerning, RB and WR are improved though. I don't feel like we have a QB right now.

You have to take the competition he's going against as a factor, but haarberg has looked the best of all the QBs. Purdy #2.

i just don’t get why you don’t play Thompson the whole first half. If it’s going to be “thud” then let him run the offense and see what he can do.

I wouldn't take too much from the offense we're running today. We're not going to show early opponents anything. This is more about seeing what individual players look like.

CT only got 3 series, and on one he handed off for a touchdown right away, so it's hard to establish any consistency with that or read too much into his performance. I agree with you on the order and think Smothers is a 4th string qb. The offensive performance has been disappointing, but the format didn't really help with that either.

Dingle, i love the optimism and the glass half full. I don't know where you get it but keep bringing it.

Exactly, and it helps see what other guys can do with a starting quality qb.

I still can't help but watch Masker run the offense and wonder what he would look like as a starting QB.

We're not showing anything. I think Purdy was impressive today considering how little he's practiced. Lots of weapons this year IMO. I am concerned about the O and D lines. Good RBs. Good WRs. IMO improved QB room. JMHO.

Lol haarberg had a 10 second wind up for a throw, what do you guys honestly see in him??
